"The hotel itself was in a run down condition and needs a lot of money spent on it. My room, had windows into the atrium so my view was of stairs and walls. It also meant there was no airflow, and on this very hot summer, it made it difficult to sleep or be comfortable in any way. The lights in my bathroom did not work, which I mentioned to the staff, and the door self closing mechanism did not have a soft close function so that I was woken each day before 5 am by the slamming of doors.

"The Potter suite that I was staying in had the most beautiful view on the lake and the mountains. My comfortable room was being cleaned every day. I can also recommend the bathtub in which I took very relaxing baths. The staff is friendly and accommodated to all of our needs and were overall just very helpful. Taking morning walks to the lake is also something that I enjoyed doing a lot. The hotel truly has a magical garden. I will definitely come back to the Derwentwater Hotel when I visit the...
