"The hotel is an older structure and has been modernised throughout to a very high standard with evidence of new work present around the lifts and some common areas; the rooms are probably getting ready for a refresh as whilst it was really clean there are chips out of the bath and the shower/taps could do with being renewed. The staff welcoming us at check-in were friendly and top class; that said the bar staff and breakfast staff were all really, really excellent in every way and they make the hotel absolutely perfect. The beds were comfy, the family room nice and quiet too, the breakfast was great and everything perfect which is why I love a Crowne Plaza "

"The room was extremely clean and I like the bottles of water provided. However the shower floor tiles were grimy . A box of tissues in the room is useful"

"A truly wonderful hotel that is right on the seafront. Great attentive staff, especially at breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble, order eggs just how you like them. The one and only fault is the toaster...you can either have hot bread or burnt toast! The carpark is very tight and small for the size of the hotel, but we did manage to find a space for all 3 nights of our stay. "

"Facilities were very good. The receptionist that ran the Zumba classes should be complimented on her infectious enthusiasm. Loved having the pool and hot tub to ourselves for the week which was an unexpected bonus. Would definitely visit again Thanks to all the team"

"Love staying at the Imperial Hotel , have stayed here before . It is a lovely hotel, historical. Food is great , breakfast buffet style with service. Evening menu's good selection, lovingly cooked and beautifully presented. A little pricey, but you get top quality for that. Bar prices are as expected ££. Can highly recommend the Devonshire cream tea, its delicious. The rooms , the decor and furnishings could do with a little attention, for example fraying carpet near bathroom door threshold, some distressed furniture cupboards nailed shut and water marked wood. A timely upgrade maybe needed. I would suggest the addition of mini fridges in the rooms. Absolutely love the sea views and the people make this hotel a wonderful place to stay."

"Its a beautiful estate like property, very well groomed, in a great location. However, the rooms are very basic, albeit clean and comfortable, but the washroom was very dated and could use modernization. Also, the pillows were sadly very old. "

"This lovely old hotel is perennially reliable and perfect for walks to the Barbican, the city centre and the Ferry terminal. No need to book a taxi and they are willing to hold one's luggage for the return. The receptionists are wonderful and the bar/lounge very cosy. "
