"Agriturismo Mare e Monti was amazing! This has been the best stay of our Italy trip. The family that runs and owns the farm welcomed us as if we were family. Mom is an exceptional cook and every meal was scrumptious. The food is cooked with fresh ingredients, including fresh eggs, and anything not grown on the farm is sourced locally. Oh! "We booked a room, showed up before checkin time and they were not operating yet for the season. Mistakes happen, so we weren’t too upset as we found a nearby room at Hotel Portobello . The groundskeeper told us to get a refund thru Expedia. Expedia contacted the hotel, the hotel denied our refund. They said we didn’t cancel within the cancelation time frame?? This place is such a scam. I do not recommend unless you want to risk losing your money. "

"The agritourismo is in a beautiful setting in Aglianico wine country. I had an injured knee so did not have rental car. Giovanni picked us up and delivered us to our next hotel in Amalfi. He arranged his friend Gino to drive us to winery. Wonderful hospitality!"

"Not exactly great. Room looked not like we expected as per the view on hotels.com. Barely any toiletries in room. Towels were mega thin (we did get more from the spa). Didn't feel it was as described and was disappointing. AC worked great though so that is goood!"

"This hotel is actually a working farm, so a place with a difference, courtyard of fruit trees, for example. Dinners are excellent, as are their wines. Management and staff are exceptionally nice and a couple of problems I had were resolved in no time. I hope to stay there again on my way back from Calabria."

"We made this our home base for exploring Capri, Naples, Paestum, Pompeii, etc. Ana is the perfect hostess. Her daughter in law is a fantastic chef. Bruna the dog is a welcomed visitor. We would highly recommend this choice for those driving around to various points of interest with a desire to sleep at a country estate every night with a home cooked dinner and breakfast."

"This lovely, mountainside hotel was one of our best stays anywhere EVER!! The owner/manager Sergi took care of us himself, since it was shoulder season and we had the hotel to ourselves, and his incredible Mama was the chef for one of our best meals in Italy -- or maybe anywhere. "Alexis and Angelo were wonderful. The space is gorgeous, clean, and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and it was easy to find. There was some loud music late night one night that made for a rough sleep but Angelo and Alexis made sure that it didn’t happen again. Casa Santangelo is a wonderful stop in Salerno if you want to get away from the crowds of the hotels with easy access to ferries, restaurants, and other sites. "
