This charming 2BR home is nestled amongst the redwoods in the hamlet of Monte Rio. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the location, only minutes from kayaking and paddle boarding on the Russian River and close to hiking and bike trails. A 15-minute drive takes you to the coast or to a number of Sonoma wineries.

Make use of the gourmet kitchen and outdoor entertaining areas, complete with a hot tub, picnic table, and grill.

LIVING AREAS

The inviting living room features wood beam ceilings and a 55in flat screen TV. Curl up by the gas fireplace with a book, or open the French doors to let in the fresh forest air.

KITCHEN & DINING

The chef in your group will enjoy crafting meals in the gorgeous, completely remodeled kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a gas range, and a wine fridge. Sip morning coffee and enjoy your meals at the breakfast bar with seating for four.

BEDROOMS & BATHS

This home sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms, each featuring a queen bed, plush new carpet, and plenty of closet space.

The remodeled bathroom is stocked with a complimentary starter supply of toiletries and bath amenities and features a large walk-in shower with a double shower head.

OUTDOOR AREAS

Spend leisure time on the spacious wraparound deck. Soak in the two-person hot tub, stargaze in a pair of Adirondack chairs, or sip a cocktail at the cozy outdoor lounge area with seating for four. A picnic table is the perfect place to gather for an al fresco meal prepared on the grill.

Parking is available for two cars parked in tandem in the driveway. A washer/dryer and complimentary Wi-Fi are provided.

This rental does not have cable TV. Guests can access internet options via personal accounts or make use of the DVD player.

Please no amplified music outdoors. Quiet hours are 10 pm to 7 am.

THE LOCATION

This redwood retreat is located just a 2-minute drive from Monte Rio Beach on the Russian River where you can rent kayaks, canoes, or paddle boards. Drive less than 15 minutes to the coast and many wineries, including Porter Bass Winery, Rio Crest, and Korbel Winery.

The hamlet of Monte Rio features plenty of options for outdoor adventurers, including bike trails, hiking, and fishing. For a romantic night out, have dinner at the historic Village Inn & Restaurant, where the 1942 movie Holiday Inn was filmed, and then see a movie at the Monte Rio Movie Theater or a catch a show at the Monte Rio Amphitheater, all less than a 5-minute drive away.

Nice place close to the river

The kitchen was amazing. A chef's dream come true. Everything for the "foodie" who loves to cook. Great location close to the Russian River. Very comfortable living room and bedroom(s). The hot tub was a relaxing way to end the day. Best place for couples to relax and unwind.

Nice house near Monte Rio beach

The house is very well insulated, so even on crazy hot days it stayed fairly cool. The TV remote was not working, so we would need to hit the Netflix button to turn the TV on and the sleep timer for 30 minutes to turn it off. The hot tub comfortably fits two people. The grill was in great shape and the kitchen was well appointed. There is no table inside the house to eat at or play games at, you need to play games at the coffee table. There are some bar stools around a counter in the kitchen for eating. They do have an outdoor table and benches but the wood was very weathered and I was nervous to sit on the benches and have them break.

Perfectly Peaceful & Fully Renovated

A nicely renovated house perfectly nestled in the redwoods. Well stocked kitchen and toiletries, with comfortable bedding. It’s on a quiet side road. It was so nice to relax in the hot tub staring up at the tree tops or cozied up with the fireplace inside. I really enjoyed my time there and would have extended my stay there in a heartbeat if I could have.

Full of Fiascos

1 – 54 degrees inside when we entered the home. Took us an hour to get the fireplace to start. 2 – Water reeked like sewage. Per Vacasa (mgmt), we had to run all taps, which we did for over 30 minutes to get the hot water out. The entire house filled with the stench of sewage– had to open all windows & doors to air out the home, temp outside was in the 40’s. We didn’t want to shower, brush teeth, or use that disgusting water. We're staying for 6 days! 3 – We got locked out of the house- the electronic lock stopped working. Like the law of gravity, the kid needed to go to the bathroom, and our fresh, hot, crispy food we just bought was getting cold and soggy. Took multiple texts and calls for anyone to respond. They finally told us how to get inside using the lockbox after almost 30 minutes. They never fixed the lock the entire time we were there even though they said they would. 4 – Redwood branch the length of a car fell from the huge redwood trees that you park between in the driveway. BOOM!!! I ran to my kid to get her away from the front of the house and cover her in case something else hit the house or the power line broke and hit the house and electrocuted us. (Split second reactions don’t always make sense.) One of the scariest moments of my life. It hit the power line attached to the house, then the stairs that I should have been walking down- I just happened to hesitate (because it looked so cold outside) before going to get something out of the car. Someone was watching over me that day, for sure. There’s not a doubt in my mind that branch would have taken me out if I went to the car at the moment I was going to. Terrifying for all of us. 5 – The morning we’re leaving, someone is banging relentlessly on our door at 750 am- a construction worker telling us to move our car from the driveway all the way down the street. Now we have to drag all our luggage all the way down the street to the car?! (This is a very long street in the middle of a forest.) 6 – Here’s the worst part. Up until now, I was being Incredibly patient with all the annoyances that kept happening. This was a LOT to deal with in one trip. But having someone banging on your door at 750 in the morning, telling you there would be road work that we were never warned about, and having to haul all our heavy bags down the street to our car was just too much. I texted Vacasa immediately and nicely asked for a late check out since we unexpectedly had to walk up and down the street multiple times to take all the luggage to the car. Simple, more than reasonable request, after all the crap we put up with - DENIED!!! They told us NO because we didn’t pay the $45 fee for a late check out they offered us the night before (I actually thought they were offering a late check out due to all the incidents until I read the full text - Who charges for a late check out?!?!) They wouldn’t accommodate us, even under the current circumstances. No refund, nothing.

Great Getaway on the River

This was the second time staying here. This property is a hidden gem on the Russian River just outside of Monte Rio. The layout and amenities are perfect for a couple ( or two ) with a kitchen that any chef would be proud to work in. The hot tub was a cozy and relaxing way to end the day. Quiet location with a short walk to the River and Monte Rio Beach. We highly recommend this property for any weekend or weekday getaway.

Very nice location

Location is really nice, the hot tub was a great touch. As other reviews mention screens on the windows would be nice. We were there with 100 degree weather and would have wanted to open the windows without letting all the bugs in.

Great Location for the River, Coast or Wineries!

Very nice home in the woods, modern kitchen, comfortable outdoor areas, and close to everything. Great for a couple or a small family. We stayed a weekend and spent a day touring wineries and a day touring the coast. Came back and jumped in the hot tub and had dinner on the deck. Very nice!

A hidden gem!

My fiancé and I stayed for four days and loved every minute of it! This newly renovated cabin is both beautiful and homey! We cozied up in the living room with the fire place on for a few nights during a rain storm and it was truly dreamy— we even enjoyed the hot tub one of the rainy nights and it was magical! This cabin is also conveniently close to the Russian River for outdoor activities, Occidental and Sebastopol for great food and shopping, Bodega bay for some coastal time or Graton for a little wine tasting. We would recommend this place to any of our friend, family or anyone interested in a relaxing vacation. We’re sad to be leaving but excited to come back for another stay in the future. If you’re looking for a place to relax and enjoy the beautiful Monte Rio, this is the place for you!
