Secluded, tranquil home by the Beach. Pet-friendly.

The Beach Cabin, nestled below the subtropical forest, has a view of the sea with only a minutes walk to the beach. Its private, sheltered location makes it a great place to relax and get away from it all. The cabins open plan lounge/kitchen is comfortably furnished and well equipped.

Our one-thousand acre property is set in surroundings where Aotearoa is as it used to be—lush, unspoiled and natural. A slice of paradise. Gentle Annie is an ideal place to get off the beaten track to experience New Zealand's untamed wilderness and truly appreciate the South Island’s West Coast. Bounded by the Tasman Sea, the mighty Mokihinui River and beautiful ancient bush, our seaside accommodation is a peaceful place to relax and enjoy time away from the busy life and provides a great base to explore our stunning region. Only 10km from the Old Ghost Road Northern Trailhead in Seddonville!

Centrally located in the Northern West Coast, Gentle Annie is near places of interest where day trips will get you north to the magnificent Oparara Limestone Arches, the Kahurangi National Park, the Heaphy Track and south to the Chasm Creek and Charming Creek Walkways, Punakaiki Pancake Rocks, the Denniston Plateau and the Cape Foulwind Seal Colony. We are on the doorstep of the new Old Ghost Road mountain-biking track!

In any season, enjoy time at Gentle Annie. It will nourish your soul and awaken your senses.

Cosy, rustic cabin, cleverly planted so it feels like your own little hideaway, and couldn't be closer to the beach - spent many hours sitting on the suntrap deck and watching the waves. Quiet and private, with everything you need (extra fridge/freezer a bonus). Grounds are beautifully maintained and staff are friendly and helpful. Lovely break away.

Week in paradise

We had a fantastic time. The cabin is basic but comfortable. The ocean is a very short walk and we spent a lot of time there. We also hired a hot tub which was delivered to the cabin so we spent the nights looking at the incredible stars.

Lovely cabin

Was a lovely cabin to stay in. So close to the beach and away from the other people. Didn’t have to worry about the dogs making too much noise. Everyone was lovely to deal with. Even let me get a drink and ice cream when they were closing the shop at 6pm. There was a sign in the cabin saying they were open till 8pm might need to update that if the shop closes at 6pm but was a lovely place. Thanks.

Stunning

Just want to say a big thankyou for accommodating us .a peaceful and private setting was all we needed to unwind and wish we had a week there! Beautiful beaches and the Cafe was a stunning place to go get a coffee.even managed to get a feed of whitebait !loved the Locals they are very welcoming .we will back for sure!!

A location like no other

What a privilege to spend time in such an unspoilt natural environment yet have complete comfort. Great if like us you love wild NZ but are not campers. The house is warm (good heating) and full of character. Private except for cheeky weka in the garden, sounds of the sea and birds. Magic.

Awesome

Best accommondation ever. It was so so nice there! We really enjoyed it there from the first moment on! It is in such a good place, directly on the beach where you are all by your own most of the time. And its very quite there. It has a very nice garden and the house is in such a good state and really well maintained. Its very comfort with all the nice wood and all the windows. Its very bright. The people on the campingground, which is a 10 minute walk away from the house, are very friendly. First we were in a little shock because the fridge in the kitchen is very small. But there is a second big one in another room, behind the house. We didnt see the note at the fridge AT first. In this extra room is also a washing machine. The kitchen has everything you needed, there is also a Weber Grill outside. The bathroom is a little bit small and a little old. But it was ok! The sofas in the livingroom are not that comfortable, but are okay. But the beds are comfortable! From the bedrooms and the livingroom out you have a really great view at the garden and the beach! Everything was very clean! It was awesome there!

Had all we needed…

Very easy area to play safely with our dog Suki. Great to have hooks to hang things on, bug screens on the windows and a composting bucket, those small things that are often missing. The view from the kitchen and bathrooms are also lovely.

Amazing Stay

Nice and warm, fantastic location right across from the beach. What a wonderful treat to be able to bring our dog. Easy, no contact check in & out. We'll be back for sure!

Best place for a wedding!

We had an awesome 4 days at the Beach Cabin along with our 2 dogs. We loved the Bach, the wood floor was great for the dogs, plenty of hot water in the shower and a good gas fired heater. Make sure you hire one of the hot tubs and enjoy the amazing sunsets. We were married on the beach so a pretty special place for us, we will definitely be back!!
