"We had an outstanding stay at a Historic Inn (c. 1744). Inn Keeper Cherie was most helpful and a delightful hostess. Breakfast was outstanding. Located in Historic Old Salem. We will definitely return when we have more time to tour the Old Salem community and to become more schooled in the Moravian culture."

"My daughter in law and I decided to go to Charlotte, NC to see a concert. We didn't want to stay at a hotel and decided to stay at a B&B and found The Silly Chicken. What a find! "Stayed over Memorial Day weekend. House was chosen as overflow lodging for a family event nearby. Sleeping set up was great for adult children with their own young families. One of our adult children has 3 little ones 3 years and under and they were able to stay together in the massive master bedroom with a quiet upstairs location perfect for kids naps. "I always enjoy my stay at this location and the staff is wonderful! The breakfast is really good and I especially enjoy having a home made breakfast verses a breakfast bar! The concierge service was fantastic even with a last minute change and the room was stocked to my liking. Gary was one of my favorite servers with his kind attitude, and charm, just a perfect host."

"My daughter and I stayed at Summit Street Inn for a weekend of college touring and getting to know Winston Salem. This inn is beautiful and clean, conveniently located at the “end” of downtown. We felt safe and walked to dinner and other outings. The home is well maintained with a mix of old (original creeky floors) and new (bathrooms) and lovely gardens! We will be back!"

"This is a beautiful spot! It rained and stormed our entire weekend there but we were still able to sit under the gazebo on the dock and have a relaxing weekend away. The host was courteous and allowed us our privacy but was available if needed. The neighbor was kind as well. "Great location. Very walkable to all the fun things Elkin has to offer, including a local brewery/pizza place and a fantastic cocktail bar. Hiking trails for all levels within walking distance from room. Nice studio room, very clean, but a little small for two adults. Needs comfortable seating, task lighting and bedside tables of some sort. 3.5 out of 5"
