"The Stone House, lovingly owned by Mark and Sharon was a step back in time. The stone structure, while I suspect it was built many years ago still had all of the modern conveniences you would want.This well appointed home was set in the mountains and we were able to step out of modern chaos and truly relax. The gardens, the pool and the outdoor patio set the stage for a lovely glass of vhino verde and great conversation.Thank you Mark and Sharon for sharing your well-loved home with us! We will be back again if possible. "

"beautiful view but very little staff in each villa only available at the main reception which is a 7 minute walk uphill difficult for someone that’s less mobile and older and didn’t get the room we originally booked but view was beautiful as was the spa for the price"

"My wife and I stayed at this home for four days in May, 2025. A heat wave during the week, but the house was still very comfortable.A lot more house than the two of us needed, but the neighborhood “quietness” was well worth it. At first it seemed a little remote, but we shortly realized it was just a quick 15 minutes to town. A restaurant, cafe and small market are adjacent to the neighborhood for easy and quick access.The grounds are phenomenal with the odors of flowers and the chirping of birds to sooth the soul - no traffic noise, airplanes, or noisy neighbors. I didn’t want to leave the pool area but we had to get out and see the sights. One thing - mosquitos do come out at night so be prepared. We were not so we had to stock up at the store for those late nights on the patio.The house is very well equipped with games, TV’s, books, a pool table, fooseball table and even ping-pong - none of which we used but nice to have them available, There was a beach umbrella and beach bag we utilized for our time at the beach and lots of other practical items we didn’t use but you would if you brought kids along.All in all, the owner is a great communicator and is happy to help with recommendations so I would take advantage if you are new to the area. I would recommend this house as a great “base of operations” for exploring the Western Algarve."

"A lovely authentic cottage in pretty gardens. A gem to find a rural property within walking distance of good restaurants. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Useful to know... If you arrive after 9pm, all the supermarkets/shops are closed, so get the basics you need or want for the night and first thing in the morning, such as water/coffee/milk before you leave the airport. The pool is a great size with lovely views. The Monchique area is delightful. A lovely holiday. "

"It was very peaceful setting to spend three days just relaxing up in the Highlands. You definitely need some form to reach the hotel and if you want to eat out in the evening the nearest restaurant was about a 1/2 mile away. It was a bit too cool to use the pool, but it sure looked inviting."
