"Finding the reception was a challenge as Google maps brought us to the Spa. Check in was simple and easy with very pleasant staff. We had a lovely stay and the termal spa was delightful, again with helpful and pleasant staff. The grounds of the resort are lovely with a lot of old broadleaf trees. The grounds are in need of a complete clean up and Maintenance. It's a pity because the walk up to the Fonte dos Amores is so lovely and peaceful. Breakfast is Fab with great choice for everyone."

"In one word : lovely ! If you like to live secluded in the nature this place is just perfect. Located in the heigths of the sierra with a peaceful view, on a peaceful road. The night is fresh and windy. We where a family of 4 (with two teenagers) Our teenagers survived of the "No Wi-fi" feature, connecting with nature, calm and some board games availables at the house. During the days we were at the beaches or visiting cities around in the beautiful Algarve, but finishing our days at the Stonehouse, in the pool, with the view, surrounded by the cozy and dry mountains. Near from very good typical Portugeze restaurants and from the small city of Monchique with a supermarket the quiet Stonehouse is well located. It's easy... One week is not enough, it was very hard to leave this paradise... We encountered a small issue with an equipment, but the wonderful and very kind Ana (the local responsible) took care of us."

Communication with the host was excellent from start to finish. They were responsive, helpful, and made everything easy. We really enjoyed our time here and would happily stay again."

"The villa was snuggled in the woodland..soo peaceful, private and calm but close to supermarket and restaurants for all you need. Car is essential really due to access and busy road down to Monchique, but everything only a short drive away.Property full of character and traditional features...a real taste of Portugal with everything you need for a self catering hols. Pool is huge and deep so perfect for swimming. We arrived in a heatwave, so found ourselves living next to it to keep cool.Thanks for a lovely stay."

"Unser Aufenthalt in der Villa von Pascal war ein Traum. Wer Ruhe vom Alltag sucht ist hier genau richtig.Der Pool war natürlich das Highlight. Auch mit unserem Hund war es überhaupt kein Problem, das Grundstück ist komplett eingezäunt. Wir können die Villa absolut weiterempfehlen."

"We loved our stay here. Our family of 5 visited in the heat of August and made great use of the local pool and some smaller ones in surrounding villages. We loved wandering through the old passages and stairways, the town is just so full of character! Air conditioning was a godsend on a couple of hot evenings, the beds are comfortable and we all slept really well (although the endless barking of a neighbour's dog was a little irritating ). The kitchen is small and cleverly laid out with a lot stored high and accessed by steps. A cheese grater would have been welcome and pot pourri in the salad bowl was pretty but meant we couldn't actually use it. The kids were thrilled to have TV with Disney channel! There is a laundromat at Intermarché. We would have loved some guidance on waste segregation - we separated our recycling and left it, hoping for the best, but after having checked out I spotted municipal recycling, and even community compost (near the pool, actually!) which we would have gladly used. In all, I can imagine Casa Sofia would be a great place to visit anytime of year and I hope we can visit again some day."
