"We liked that it was practical and felt like a home away from home. Some cabins feel like they’re trying to be hotels and that’s fine, but this felt more like a quiet, simplified home. The layout was practical and there were places to hang towels. It made good use of the available space. It’s located away from the busy street and between Tawas and Oscoda, making for a shorter drive to both places. Our only downside was the beds were small (they are listed as double — so I just thought in my head...

"We visited Hubbard Lake (Churchill Point) for a wedding. Very lucky to find Sunset Hideaway! 2 couples stayed, so only used 2 of the 3 bedrooms. We had unusually chilly weather when arrived so did not get to use all the property offered- fire pit, the lake, & renting a pontoon to enjoy the water and a sunset! But we were able to enjoy a beautiful lake views from the cottage through the wall of windows while enjoying our coffee. Plus walk out on the huge deck and see the millions of stars at...

"We had two large families stay here and found the property to be very clean, well stocked, and as advertised. There is no air conditioning in this home, so it got very hot! But, we knew that from the listing and packed a few extra fans which I would recommend. The property owner was very communicative and helpful. Overall, a great stay."

"Such a beautiful beach. The room was pretty rustic but we didn’t go there to stay in the room. We walked the dogs on the beach and they swam in the water. It’s a family friendly place. Babies and dogs there. Just such a nice place. I highly recommend a stay here!"

"We had a great visit - I think this unit is probably the best in the complex of cabins. You can sit on your own private porch at the large table and look out at the sunrise and lake in the distance. The beds were comfortable and the unit was very clean. We loved the old school charm and layout, but the cabin has nice updated features inside. "We had a pleasant experience. The only problem was when we moved a fire pit closer to our cabin because the are was vacant (5 fire pits only 8 cabins, which needs to be addressed). The man who checks on the property came over and stated he drove by to talk to us earlier, but we were not at the cabin, which (a) seems like stalking and (b) his tone and the way he was leering at my daughter in law were not appreciated. If we stay next year my son and I may just kick his ass....we were tempted to...

"We had a great time at this cottage. The beach is clean and has soft sand, great for kids to play in. Plenty of cool things to see in the area with a short drive. Hosts responded quickly with a minor maintenance issue. Previous renters left trash/food around the fire pit and porch and the floor/tables inside were sticky. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises made up for it!"
