"When we showed up, the windows were all covered with plastic as they painted the building and deck. However, the host let me know about it before we arrived and, it was fine as we were just there one night passing through on the way back home. I really appreciated the communication and support from the host. I would've been more shocked if I had just shown up with no contact about what was going on.
