"We had two seperate stays. The first was on the fifth floor in a room that was not updated and rather dismal. There was a metal window or door banging on the second night that work is up, went unresolved and meant we need to get key to another room to get sleep. Second stay was a single night on third floor in updated room at back of hotel. Nice. No banging. Location is great near train station. History and lobby are interesting. Staff were good and professional "

"This hotel is great. Basic room but amazing view and an incredible shower. Double glazed windows so nice and quiet! Bed was huge and comfy. "

"Breakfast menu was good , however paid for a superior room and expected a dressing gown and slippers which were not provided . Had to walk through the reception and food serving areas with a towel The room was clean and warm "

"The location was good, parking was very easy in Q Park with discount. Room was pretty average for a delux room. No drawers, or suitcase stand so every time I needed something the case went on the bed which isn’t great. There was no close up make up mirror in bathroom which was annoying. No fridge which was also a surprise. I checked in online and got confirmation email saying pick keys up at reception or from machine. Machine wouldn’t dispense keys so went to reception. Female member of staff said you’ve not checked in despite me looking at an email saying I’d successfully booked in online! She was having none of it, not much customer service no apology…."

"The room was very clean, the shower head was leaking badly but was fixed promptly. The staff were were welcoming and attentive. We caught the train to Liverpool and the hotel was only a 20 minute walk away. Air conditioning was ok"
