Enjoying a prime position on the very fringe of the town of Matlock, this restored cottage lives up to its name with lovely views across the Derwent Valley. The interior combines sophisticated contemporary comfort and artistic style whilst retaining the proportions of the original Victorian building. There are many restaurants in Matlock, 1 mile, and some excellent takeaways. The Peak Rail Steam Train is 1 mile away. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are 5 miles away and the attractions of Heights of Abraham, Crich Tramway Museum, Carsington Lake and the High Peak Trail (with cycle hire) are all within easy reach. Bakewell is 8 miles, Buxton is 20 miles and Alton Towers is within an hour’s drive. Golf 2 miles. Riding 10 miles. Shop and pub 0.5 miles.

Lovely cottage. Warm welcome.

Lovely cottage with everything we needed provided. Warm welcome with tea, coffee, milk and cake. Good location.

The location was excellent with great views and an easy walk into town.

The location was excellent with great views and an easy walk into town. It was a warm cottage and the provision of logs for the fire was very welcome. The beds were comfortable although my single was very creaky! There were a number of large cobwebs around the cottage which should have been removed but overall the cottage was clean. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and left us milk and mince pies plus a lovely decorated Christmas tree to get our holiday off to a good start.
