Good basic room in a great location.
Great service from the owners.
Hot water for showers was a bit in short supply in our room, it helped to shower at different times.
Colin and Gail are superb hosts and went out of their way to ensure our stay was wonderful. The units are quite tired and in need of some TLC. Location was excellent and the price per night reflected the age. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay
The biggest issue is the room booked was NOTHING like what Expedia sold me.
The owner did ring me to advise - alarm bells right there.
Overall clean & tidy, the carpet was yuck and small double bed sofe & lumpy. Really dated overall could do with a freshen up.
End of day you get what you pay for. Was v glad when the morning arrived and we could leave.

Clean comfortable with good location
It was a comfortable place, friendly host, great location. The double room was perfect for me as a solo traveler. I could see if being crowded for two people though. As others said, the facilities are a little dated and could use some upgrades. But clean, comfortable and right on my price point. Would stay there again. No wifi though
Despite some friendly hosts and a very central location, our stay here made us glad we were only staying one night in Martinborough. The dirty carpet, lack of WiFi (which is as advertised to be fair) and numerous bug sightings makes the Motel feel very outdated and quite uncomfortable. Also, while of course not the Motel’s fault, the fire station across the road blaring a siren in the middle of the night like the Blitz is raining down on you made our night less than ideal. While I understand the stay is cheap for the area, compared to what we have received across the country for the same price we were disappointed, and I would recommend paying a bit extra for some of the beautiful other stays in Martinborough. The cheap price and location is the only thing saving this from a one star review.

Depends on what you want
If you like a nice room, you’ll probably be disappointed. If you like a cheap room, it’ll probably work for the night.
The pros: Low price, close to the main square (only a block away, and a small one at that), friendly owners
The cons: Quite aged building/room/equipment, no wifi, limited outlets.
The carpet was dirty. Bed was an old hard bed with flat as pillows. 2 days later my back and neck are still very sore. Tea and coffee in clickclack containers with only 2 sachets of sugar. Cups didnt match. One quick shower and all hot water was gone. Thank goodness i didnt wash my hair as i would hgave had to use cold water. No flannel to wash my face in the morning. Was very disappointed.
