"A delightful surprise. We usually want a stay that includes breakfast, but for what we needed when, this was the best choice. (Coffee was available gratis in the lobby and we planned our own breakfast ahead of time. But there is full breakfast service in their restaurant priced by menu choice). But very happy we ended up there. Traditional single story motel of a certain age, but the room was completely redone and modernized. On a hill with a stunning view. We were running late for arrival (horrid traffic early in the day delayed our whole day) and got a call from the proprietor She was worried that we hadn't arrived yet, was close to 8, and she wanted to know if she should get any food ready for us because all the local restaurants would be closed. Above and beyond."

"Superbly situated for touring Cape Breton. Very comfortable room with fast WiFi. The dinner menu is outstanding - different every evening. 4 options. Four course meat, fish, or vegetarian or 8 course combination of fish and meat. We had the meat first night and fish second night. Both delicious, imaginative, and portion sizes perfectly adequate (probably need to work up an appetite for the 8 course). The staff were very friendly and well informed about the area. Breakfast also excellent. And ingredients largely sourced locally."

"The landscape is beautiful, with easy access to the beach. We enjoyed the restaurant that offers live music and appreciated the proximity of various dining options. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, we did notice spiders, flies, and mosquitoes in our room, indicating a need for pest control. Additionally, the toilet bowl is too low, which may not be safe for guests with knee problems or osteoarthritis."

"We enjoyed our time in this property which had a view of the ocean from the balcony. The house was clean and well provisioned with all that we needed. The hostess couldn't have been more helpful and attentive to anything that we might need. We didn't stay "home" very much because we were out seeing the sights."
