This is a really nice place to get away for a weekend or more. It is close by to good hiking spots and wineries. Will definitely be going back and might check out one of the other rentals (very far apart and secluded 😀) on the same property.

A lovely location set amongst the trees in Larch Hills. Comfy beds (slept like Babis I. The peace & quiet) and a nice, spacious and very comfy screened in porch for relaxing and playing cards. And a great, unique decor! The outdoor shower was fantastic too!

We had a great experience at Tin Poppy. Even though it was off the beaten path, it was easy to find with the helpful signage. Our dog loved being able to roam around with a bit of freedom given there were no other people/dogs around. My partner enjoyed the great scenery for photography. I loved the screened in rooms which made you feel like you were outside but had protection from bugs (and a buffer from wildlife if you are a big chicken like me). I have already recommended this spot to some of my friends. We will definitely be back.

We had such a lovely weekend at the Tin Poppy. Everything was perfect, from weather, to atmosphere, and activities. Will definitely return again soon!

Love the Glamping at Tin Poppy! The kids loved the converted caravan and screened in space. We had an amazing holiday!

Creative, artful and everything works really well - solar power and awesome outdoor shower. We made a nice thanksgiving meal in the compact kitchen. In colder weather (mid October) best for 3 - our fourth had to sleep on the screened area and it was right at edge of that being viable without a warm sleeping bag. Lovely walk-in on the property; fall colors.

Our family of 4 had an amazing weekend! Our kids (3 and 7) loved every bit of this trip. The lookout tower was their favourite spot to color and hangout, they hunted for fairies outside and had tons of fun exploring this neat little place. We stayed nice and warm at night (the beds are so comfy!) and enjoyed playing the games they have provided. Definitely want to come back and would recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat!

We just spent 8 days at the tin poppy - 5 with our 11 year old son and then 3 more with a friend and her 13 and 11 year old as well. We loved it!! The cabin was so cool! It was like staying in a combination cabin/tent/motorhome! At night the breezes came in and the fresh air was everywhere and so great! Our son slept up in the upper bed way up in the tower - it was great up there! It was so peaceful and calm at night we all slept great. When we had a cool night it wasn't too cold under the warm blankets. We scrambled around the cabin and explored the trails, used the wood burning sauna every night and the outdoor shower was excellent. In the immediate area we visited Enderby lots - there is an excellent flea market there, a good boat launch that we fished and swam at and our few meals out were in Enderby as well. There was no need for us to go anywhere else! We also played and fished at Garmen lake (the turtles were so cool!), we loved going down to the secret beach below tin poppy, hidden lake was a great trip and Mara lake (on a less crowded weekday) was good too! Another hit with us was the "tool museum" - that was such a weird road side surprise that we loved going to! The man that lives there (Herb!) and runs it showed our 11 year old so many cool machines and tools that he wanted to stay all day! The other stand-out weird/cool thing was the drive in movie theatre! It's so great! Just outside of Enderby - we went to the drive in diner, had dinner - then drove out to the drive-in to watch a movie with the kids! I didn't think they would ever get the chance to do that! Just writing this makes me want to quit work and drive us back tomorrow.......

A stunning building with so many delightful spaces in which to enjoy reading, eating, relaxing- perfect for a retreat. Would give it 5 stars, but the location was remote - hard to come and go - best for those who want to just enjoy the beauty the property offers - inside and outside of the home.

Very spacious built on living room & dining area compliment the cozy bedrooms and kitchen in the warm trailer. Indoor toilet, outdoor shower with hot-ish water. Lots of firewood for the fire pit. When looking at the air b&b site pictures, I had mistaken the built-on walls to be tall glass windows, but in fact they are screens, i.e. open to the elements. A consideration when deciding which part of the year to visit. A unique interesting place to stay. Less than half hour drive to Salmon Arm. Excellent places to eat: Barley Brewpub and Shuswap Pie Company.

Fun experience. Comfortable heated trailer with cozy kitchen exits to large common space, screened but not insulated. Well supplied with hardware for cooking and bar-b-que, as well as board and outdoor games, cute wood-stove sauna and excellent fire pit. Quiet wooded setting. Short hike to outstanding viewpoint over Enderby and Valley to south. Owners responded quickly to questions and provided excellent customer service. Very clean, tidy, and welcoming. Thanks Tin Poppy!

My husband and I recently spent a lovely two nights at the Tin Poppy... what a unique and fun experience! The owners have clearly put a great deal of thought into providing creature comforts in a setting that one can be as in touch with the natural world outdoors as one would like. The setting: A very cool, perfectly refurbished mid 50's vintage camper cruiser, atop a sweet little hill in a remote location. Feels entirely private and infinitely peaceful. Incredible views far as the eyes can see; the surrounding forest glows in the rising sun. The camper is built into a grand high-ceilinged patio area (meshed in presumably for mosquito control in the summer months). All is artistically finished and woodwork/materials/craftsmanship admirable. There is a custom built wood fire sauna just outside the Tin Poppy which we used and really enjoyed. Practical notes: **There is no running water during the winter months, which might be a deterrent for some. We decided to give it a try... and found the set up for heating water easy-peasy (plenty of water is provided... it merely doesn't come through the taps), and bathing in the warmth of the sauna a sweet taste of time gone by/life in a more natural environ. Maybe after a couple of days it might not seem as charming, but we weren't put off by it at all. Double sinks in the Poppy make it a snap to wash up with your warmed water after meals. Due to no running water, there is also no usable toilet facility indoors in the winter months. Makes for a chilly walk up a short path to the outhouse, however, a sweeter outhouse you'll never see (great view from inside too, while maintaining all privacy you need!). There were fresh cedar boughs lining the floor as a natural air freshener (which worked remarkably well!!), it was impeccably clean. Not nearly what springs to mind when you think of an outhouse. ** The road going in is a forest service road; labeled for four wheel drive only; we have a crossover all wheel drive and it handled this just fine. -Sleeping arrangements: incredibly comfy memory foam bed, flannel sheets and fluffy comforter, two pristine terry robes, slippers, fresh towels. Bottom line: if you're looking for typical 5 star accomodation you might be disappointed. If you frame it as a funky retro five star camping experience complete with every luxurious creature comfort imaginable, you'll be thrilled! We were. ;)

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at the Tin Poppy, Sept 25th & 26th. From the moment we arrived we knew we were going to have a relaxing and enjoyable time. Maggie had left us a freshly baked plum cake on the counter.....which was extremely delicious and a lovely surprise...Everything was immaculately clean and inviting. The outdoor shower was a great touch, with no shortage of hot water. If you are looking for somewhere which is different and unique to unwind, relax, read a book, go for a hike, and recharge your batteries the Tin Poppy is the place. We wish Maggie and her family the very best on their new venture. We will be back again..........

My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights at the Tin Poppy in August 2015. We had a great time at the very unique location which is tucked away in the Larch Hills. We could tell a lot of creativity went into developing the Tin Poppy --very cool architecture and décor. Even the little details were appreciated, like handmade soap packaging and homemade granola and fresh fruit/veggies in the fruit bowl when we arrived made us feel right at home and that Maggie put an artistic touch on everything. The sunsets were absolutely amazing to look at through the large screened windows, and the bed and bedding were very comfortable. The outdoor shower was clean and new and a cool experience. Maggie was very welcoming in correspondence but also respectfully gave us privacy. She provided prompt responses to our many questions about local mountain bike trails and beaches (we LOVED "Secret Beach" off the Shuswap River that she told us about) so we got to experience the area. We would strongly encourage anyone who is looking for a 'getaway' off the grid to check this place out! It was definitely a highlight of our BC road trip!!
