"I strongly advise against staying in Manitou Springs Resort. Travelling with family and friends, we booked two rooms and experienced an unprecedented low in Canadian hospitality.
1. Hostile Check-In: Arriving early, we met cold, curt staff. We were deliberately pushed to the back of the line and denied keys until exactly 4 PM—potentially discriminated against for booking via Expedia. Strict check-in times are fine; an unwelcoming attitude is not.
2. Substandard Rooms & Neglect: One room had a broken window. Management knew about it but never disclosed it or offered a room change, forcing me to urgently demand maintenance to fix it. The rooms fall well below Saskatchewan standards, featuring tiny TVs and mismatched, spare-looking chairs with no decent seating. Furthermore, this 116-room hotel relies on a single elevator, posing major safety compliance and wait-time issues.
3. Powerless Management: The "General Manager" introduced to us was a mere scapegoat with zero authority to fix issues. Locals confirmed the property suffers from constant internal disputes, and the current management is only two months old.
They are coasting on a monopoly due to their mineral pool. However, I recommend staying somewhere else and buying a day pass if you want to enjoy the pool. Honestly, if you have ever experienced the mineral pool in Moose Jaw, this one will disappoint you anyway seeing how it has been managed. "
