"Staff was amazing and very helpful. Stephane the manager helped us when we had a problem with our bathroom and moved us to another even nicer room. Very nice breakfast actually the best we had in Sulawesi. The dinner menu could be more extensive and a bit lower in the price as compared with other places it’s quiet pricey. We can recommend to stay at janji laut!"

"Ecofriendly dive resort. Great location for diving and snorkelling (but not for walking around to explore North Sulawesi - needed to drive other places). 20min boat ride to the "house reef" wall around Bunaken. "The hotel is very run down. Our first room was comfortable, spacious and relatively clean. However the wood flooring by the patio doors was broken, with loose floor boards, exposing a small cavity space below. This presented a health and safety hazard, as well as the wooden decking on the patio, which was in a state of complete disrepair. "The accommodation was nice, as were the Dutch owners. The problems for me were that I was a solo traveller and also the only guest. So it was a bit lonely. Also, Tongkaina is very quiet. Lunch was not included and the only options in the village seemed to be a couple of dirt-floored warungs. The third thing was that, if you are a snorkeller, it makes more sense to stay on Bunaken, cos the Grand Luley boats take you to Bunaken anyway."
