The staff were friendly and professional, room was spotlessly clean, the view from my riverside window was fabulous and the service overall was very good. I would recommend staying at this hotel."

"We were in a suite in the older part of the hotel. Room was beautifully decorated yet with comfort and practicality in mind. Staff members very helpful; room was clean and well appointed (without the "old building" smell that permeates some older hotels). Breakfast must be ordered in advance but well worth the cost (best we had throughout a UK vacation). Location was excellent."

"Well was nervous booking, but we actually loved our couple of days stay. When booking in got a slight upgrade from two singles sea view to a family seaview(double and a single). The price we payed is what we usually pay at a Travelodge, to have a room with a lovely sea view in a magnificent building was great value. Second night after a lovely meal at an Italian restaurant nearby we returned to the hotel for a few drinks , we then went thru to the ballroom and watched an ABBA tribute act again adding to the amazing value. As you can guess we enjoyed our stay, and we will hopefully return sometime next year. "

"I was there for half a week to explore York after a business trip to the UK. The hotel was good and the staff excellent. Breakfast was pricey and really not worth it. Go to the coffee shop across the street instead or into the old city for a good breakfast at a reasonable price."

"This was a lovely hotel & all staff were friendly and approachable. The room was serviced daily. Breakfast was plentiful and of excellent quality. The need to use a keycard for the lift added to a sense of security. The sky bar was beautiful but was extremely busy as we visited over a weekend and it required pre-booking so we just had a look around but did not stay for drinks. "
