"Beautiful location and garden grounds. The bathroom trash was full and a wet piece of underwear was also on the floor. We were charged $12 USD for using our credit card even though we chose charging in local currency. Breakfast buffet was low even by 8:30 but remaining fruits were fresh and tasty. We had had a late arrival (9:45pm) which we confirmed via email."

"We found this place by chance and were glad we did. It was lovely! Our room was very spacious and there was a common kitchen for cooking which we took advantage of as there was a grocery store close by (short drive but would have been walkable). Lots of character. The couch in our bedroom was a bit shabby but we spent our time downstairs visiting with other guest and the manager. "

"I usually do not post reviews at Expedia but I think it is important to warn about the experience, I recently had at Jungshoved Præstegård. When I arrived, I was told by the person, who checked me in that the room I had booked, the Classic room, only had a shared bathroom a fact I had not noticed at the reservation. When she, a young woman from Ukraine, saw my reaction, she was kind enough to offer me a room with a bathroom, because, as she said, you are the only guest anyway. I was of course happy with the solution and enjoyed my stay so much that I decided to extend for another night. Later, I met the owner of the place, who appeared very forthcoming and nice until she at checkout in a very unpleasant way informed me, that the room I had occupied was much more expensive than the one I had paid for and on a very businesslike way presented me with an extra charge of 3000 kroner. The amount included 3 breakfasts but still, an outrageous amount, in particular since I was not informed that the change of room would be charged on top of what I already had paid. When I tried to challenge the amount, she became very agitated and consequently I decided to pay and put the entire thing on my very short list of unfortunate travel experiences. To add to the bad attitude, I was denied a late check out, even though the place was empty and no one else needed the room. "

Hence, this is more of a criticism of the platform hotels.com because we received an email that said the booking is confirmed and only much further down the email in small print did it notify that we needed to contact the property 24 hours in advance to make arrangements for access to property. Further down the line, it indicated only a phone number for special requests. The criticism is of the platform itself hotels.com that does not provide a vehicle for the property to be in touch with the guest for sharing details to access the property. No email was received from the property (unlike on other bookings) and only by chance were we able to reach the property owner. "
