Loved this inn - in an idyllic location, ideal for hiking and very peaceful. Comfortable accommodation with a lovely large shower. Great cooked breakfast and good pub grub, which was very welcome after a day of walking.
This property is located in an amazing scenic area. The walks are incredible and the inn is lovely. Staff are absolutely lovely and food was great. Will be back!
Loved this small Inn. Location was wonderful looking onto a small river. So quiet it was a perfect few days. Hosts were friendly and room was comfortable and had all we needed.
The Rockford is a real gem. So welcoming, quaint and in beautiful surroundings.
The staff were very friendly nothing was too much trouble, the room we had was really comfortable and clean. Breakfast, which was included in the price of our room was just delicious.
We want to visit again! Thank you for a lovely stay!!
Simply wonderful location. Great staff Cozy single room very clean. Bar is fantastic with cask beer. Try and get a river room so you can fall asleep to rushing water. I cant recommend the Rockfor Inn highly enough
Stella and Paul were the perfect, attentive hosts in this 17th Century Inn situated in the Brendon Valley. The room was clean, comfortable and overlooked the babbling river. Breakfast was fantastic and freshly cooked to order.
There are lots of walks around the Inn so no need to use the car unless you need to. Would highly recommend.
A very friendly hotel with a nice bar. The food is not box standard, everything cooked fresh. Bespoke breakfast.
The check time for me was a bit too early 10am as I am not an early riser. All cutlery etc were very clean. One issue with always seem to be overlooked is the actual tables. They were sticky. A good wipe is not enough.
Great stay. Fishing break. Ideally located for the river (Trout day ticket £3.50 from Barbrook Filling Station 10 min drive away). Handy parking next to the pub. Room 4 was very clean and comfortable. Food was excellent, Pie and Chips spot on, superb Sticky Toffee pudding and custard, great breakfast (you can tell a quality sausage and bacon). Can recommend the Salcombe Pale Ale. Love the internal look of the Inn, these style of pubs are a treasure to be kept and looked after, you’re in for a treat if you’re a fan of the artist Mick Cawston (as I am) as they have a lot of his works on the walls. Friendly staff. Lots of great walks from the pub, think would be lovely in the autumn with the colours, and a fire going.
We arrived on a very cold January day at 16.45. It took sometime to get anyone's attention. The landlady said check in time was during pub opening hours despite the Hotels com app saying it is from 3pm. She did let us check in which was good as the pub is very remote. This disparity needs sorting out and not arguing about on the doorstep.
A very relaxing stay. Lee & his staff very helpful& always pleasant. The locals, who came into the bar, were cheerful, engaged us in their conversation and there was much laughter. Rockford Inn has loads of character and in a lovely setting. If you want a break away from it all, it is a place I can recommend.
Hotel was in a lovely location, friendly staff and clean and tidy room. Evening meal was nice but disappointed at the lack of choice availble given the information on the website. Breakfast was very poor. Little choice and eggs and mushrooms were over cooked. Neevertheles, we would rate our stay overall as good.
The setting is idyllic, the food was plentiful and tasty, the room was warm, cosy and clean, Lee and the team were perfect hosts, the locals even made us feel welcome. What a wonderful place. For those who are looking for a base for a walking break this is the place. I only booked for one night, which was such a shame. Myself and Lynne will return very soon. This was a most pleasurable experience.

Remote pub in very small hamlet. Excellent for walking. Beer good. Food ok. Parking very limited eneough space for 4 cars in bays opposite pub. Check in is only between hours midday to 3pm then 6pm to 8pm only not the hours mentioned on website. You are assured a warm welcome by Lee and the team followed by Willow the friendly pub dog at breakfast (black labrador). Beer is sold from small casks so most nights a different beer is on usually at least 2 different beers available plus bottled if so wish. Food is served lunchtime and evening. Pub can be described as quirky and it makes for the atmosphere. If the area again would stay again. Recommend
