Weekend getaway on the water

The boat was nicely situated, with beautiful views of the channel, sunsets, and marine life. The host, Alex, was extremely accommodating and communication was on point. Very relaxing stay!

Things changed from time of booking

We were not satisfied with the safety of the boat once we arrived. We were in a more remote area than orginally told, here was no way to secure ourselves, and felt like someone could just come onboard and drive away with us while we were asleep. After we arrived, Host also asked us not to mention that we were renting through an online platform, and asked us to tell security that we were just friends of theirs. This felt uncomfortable to say the least. We did not feel safe, left that evening, contact the host and VRBO the next day, and spent the entire next day in communication with VRBO to get refunded. We received small ($67) refund, and don't feel satisfied. I am also a VRBO host with a highly rated property, so I know what is expected. Will not recommend this listing.
