"A really well designed room with plugs and charging sockets accessible and actually in useful places. Mirror above the dressing table desk (small but functional) and long mirror in place which you can actually see yourself in. Iron and board and safe in room. Small wardrobe. Nice shower room but sink set far back in basin a bit odd and didnt feel entirely safe in the shower. Another hand rail or non slip mat would be good. Comfy bed, good curtains, pillows a bit lumpy. Super quiet on the night I stayed. Good breakfast with veggie options (make your own waffles!) I was down late so not many blueberries left but lots of other items available. Coffee not too bad. This is isolated and next to football stadium and cinema so cant stroll anywhere at night. OK if you have a car (free parking when using hotel). "

"Wonderful room (which we would like to stay in again) and the only tiny niggle was a poorly flushing toilet, which perhaps just reflects older plumbing arrangements. Great spa and, having stayed several times before, we noticed that the restaurant, which had always been good, seemed to have stepped up a notch into fine dining. We really enjoyed the meals, including the breakfasts, with great service from the restaurant staff. The grounds are always a pleasure to explore and not least this time in excellent April weather. Danesfield House never seems to disappoint!"

"Really nice 48 hours at Horwood House, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming - we have a young child so we were keen to make sure that we got two rooms that were conjoining, which they dealt with superbly. The rooms were big and comfortable, and the grounds were beautiful. Was great to get out and walk around on a beautiful day. The food was good, with prices being comparable to most hotel restaurants. Good, friendly service. The gym was a little disapointing - just a small room tucked away, but the pool and the spa facilities were great. Next time we visit the area, we'd re-book"

"The hotel exceeded my expectations. They have done an excellent job of providing comfortable rooms while maintaining the character of the prison. The double cell room I had was a large room with a comfortable bed and with ample storage for a suitcase. The breakfast was excellent with the hot items cooked fresh to order."
