"A set of modern tower blocks at the end of the Sliema promenade, before its carriageway descends into a tunnel, fronted by 'Fortina residences'. So set back from the promenade, and for many rooms, including ours, the room and balcony only see a slice of bay and Valletta view. 10-15 minute walk to the busy part of the promenade. Few shops and restaurants near the hotel; shopping mall behind. Breakfast buffet copious and various, on the ground floor with a fine view of traffic disappearing into the tunnel. We had an adequate but uninspiring evening buffet there on one day; made an effort not to go back. Nice quiet bar on the first floor, which served the room service menu; also large portions. Staff were uniformly pleasant, well organised and helpful. Room comfortable and well appointed, frequently cleaned/serviced; convenient fridge. Balcony large and comfortable. Two shallow pools (not big or deep enough for actual swimming, and mainly used by drinkers cooling themselves) are across the road jutting out into the bay, run by a separate company and access has to be booked a day in advance in half-day slots. It and the underground interior pool and spa, is approached by a winding uneven low ceilinged stalag-luft style tunnel, or by carrying your hotel towels (to distinguish hotel guests, coralled at one end, from paying customers) across the pedestrian crossing and going down in the lift. When you're there, good service and comfortable sun loungers."

"The hotel was beautiful, very clean and room had everything we could need. The view from our balconies were amazing and we sat looking out in the evening when we watched the lightning. Lovely to have both a bath and separate shower. Toiletries were lovely and plenty of them. Staff were very helpful and professional. Helped us take bags to the room and then stored them for us the day we left as we had an evening flight. WiFi exceptional and free. We only had the breakfast buffet but there were four restaurants available for other meals. The breakfast was very good with a huge variety and everything was constantly replaced when running out. Omelettes cooked to order. Slight problem with coffee machine and very busy but you were not rushed. Would highly recommend"

"We were lucky enough to get a suite with a view of the harbor. The suite had a separate living room, so my sister and I each got our own space and separate air conditioning units. The suite was quite roomy with a lot of space. Hotel was fairly well located. We had an excellent view of Valletta and the entrance to the harbor. There were restaurants and shops close by and we were only a 10 min walk to the Ferry. This hotel was great and I would stay there again."

"Super nice front-desk staff, this is very important as it is always the first impression you have of the hotel. Check-in and out was very easy and seamless. Not sure if the hotel is old or just not very well maintained, but my room smelled very strongly of a musty odor which did not air out or disappear over the course of my stay, and which actually permeated my clothes after only a three night stay and travelled with me for the remainder of my vacation that I concluded in Gozo. The hotel is by the waterfront and Malta is humid, but I'm sure this cannot be the reason, otherwise all hotels in the same area would have the same issue. That being said, the hotel does give you free access to an awesome beach club across the street, and for the price you pay in this area compared to the other hotels nearby, it is an obvious choice. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was fine."
