"Our experience was perplexing from the start, with directions so inadequate that we had to ask the way. When we arrived I was attacked by geese at large in the grounds. Despite profuse apologies from the owner's wife, and the geese then confined to a wired pen, the owner said he wouldn't be lectured, walking away when I offered some advice on the facilities. "The first night was a disaster with a room the size of a shoebox and a very long, narrow, metal spiral staircase downstairs to the bathroom which had a door that opened directly onto the corridor. This was room 35. However, despite the hotel being full, the following day we were moved to a delightful and much more suitable room and were very happy with our stay after that. "
