"Location was easy to find, easy to park on the street and it was close to all the areas we wanted to visit. The property was clean and easy to access. The internet didn't reach the attic room but we weren't in the room that much so it wasn't a bother"

"Large, comfortable room with a modern en-suite. Very amenable and accommodating hosts with nice ideas such as putting on complimentary food in the bar during England World Cup games. We had a “simple” pie & chips from the menu and it was terrific with, as promised, real gravy. We didn’t have full English breakfast but the toast on the Continental option from a local artisan baker was fab. Lots of little touches that make the Royal Oak a little different from the ordinary."

"Left a message cancelling my room on the afternoon of my booking. I tried calling and they didn't answer the phone as they also didn't to Hotels.com. Had to book another hotel at very late notice which was more expensive. "

"Lovely large clean room, Bill and June we great hosts June was very helpful with bus times, places to go and eat, close enough to walk into Chester and breakfast was lovely. Would definitely stop again if in area."

"This was a great stay. A beautiful heritage property. Felicia and her Paul were fantastic hosts. We stayed with our son his wife and their 22 month old toddler. They could not have made us more welcome. Felicia was very accommodating about breakfast and other things as our son was running the Cheshire held marathon. The breakfasts were all delicious. Highly recommend this as a place to stay."
