"Great place on the Cornwall/Devon border, equidistant from the stuff you can do in the Southwest. The food they serve is great, as is the staff I interacted with. An EV charger in the same parking area is very helpful, as well. I was surprised that my single room didn't have a TV. The water pressure and heat when trying to shower were never consistent (but usually okay). While not a comment about this hotel, know that this area doesn't have much for stuff to do. "Very interesting place which is full of history. Parts of the house are asking for refurbishment and it is a bit of "work in progress" but the bedrooms are nicely decorated, very clean and have excellent underfloor heating installed. The service is fantastic and food is delicious. The location is a bit remote but that is an advantage if you are looking for a peaceful holiday.
