Wonderful accommodations in a lovely room overlooking the local church and town square. Two doors from "Skeldale House" and amazing breakfasts. Would definitely return if the opportunity arises.
Gem of a B and B in a lovely village .Spotlessly clean ,comfortable ,quiet room . great shower . Everything we needed. Delicious freshly cooked breakfast with plenty to choose from. Friendly welcome from our lovely hosts .Would highly recommend.
Fantastic room, very conveniently located in the heart of Askrigg and the Yorkshire dales. Alison and Mike were terrific hosts and nothing was too much. A superb breakfast and loved saying what time we would be down so it was fresh.
We both had a lovely time at Michael & Alison’s B&B in Askrigg! We stayed in August 2020 during the COVID-19 Pandemic and the adjustments that were put in place made us feel more than comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and a good start to the day. The room was spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable! Many Thanks :)
Good location, excellent host. Large clean room and bathroom with excellent shower.
Just be aware that because of the shop below and proximity next to the road you can't really have a quiet lie in. The wonderful breakfast does however compensate if you want to get out and about.
We really enjoyed our stay at Sykes House. It is in a great location for exploring the Dales or the nearby Lake District. We had a lovely welcome to the B&B and we loved our room which looked out over the church. The bed was very comfortable and you could see that thought and attention had been put into everything. The breakfast was also very enjoyable with a good selection and locally sourced. We have already recommended this B&B and look forward to visiting again in the future. Thank you!
Superb room, very comfortable bed and convenient on suite. Nice to be able to sit in the bay windows and watch the world go by.

Allison and Michael have created superb B&B accommodation in this picturesque N. Yorkshire village. The room and en-suite are superbly equipped with great attention to comfort detail. A tea tray on arrival was a nice touch
Absolutely superb in every! A lot of thought and attention to detail goes into the daily running of this fabous b&b & we always try to book here if we can...says it all!
A perfect 4 night stay in this beautiful 17C building. Very attentive friendly hosts who did everything to make our stay exceptional. Fantastic choices for breakfast. Room was spacious and bright with a comfortable bed.
This two room B&B is charming and well presented. The owners are very friendly and helpful and a good breakfast is provided using food from locally sourced suppliers. The B&B doubles as the village shop and has a small tea room serving afternoon tea. This B&B is opposite St Oswald's church in the centre of Askrigg which is a small village - it oozes North Yorkshire beauty. There are good pubs in the village and a hotel open to non-residents, so visitors have choice of eating places. There is also a good selection of local beers at hand.
We were given a very friendly welcome to this unusual B&B. We stayed in a very well-equipped and spacious double room with easy chairs and a lovely bathroom. Access to the room was up a stone spiral staircase which could be a problem for some.
As we do not go for the full-English we found breakfast was adequate but could be improved.
The setting in Askrigg is lovely and the nearby Crown pub served excellent food.
What a great place to stay and very welcoming! It was a good base for exploring North Yorkshire during the day, whilst there is plenty to do in the evening. There are three pubs nearby.
The room was very pleasant with a lovely view over towards the church.
My wife and I stayed for 5 nights in May 2015, we were having a walking holiday in the Yorkshire Dales and wanted a pleasant base for the week. The good news was that we found one. Sykes's House is a small 2 room B&B in the centre of Askrigg. It also serves as the village shop, so there was a pleasant amount of activity and a chance to meet the locals. 3 pubs in the village were good choices for dinner in the evening (the Kings Arms is the best, followed by the Crown), breakfasts at the B&B were so good, that I did not need lunch. The small bottle of fresh milk by the door every morning was a great touch for us to be able to have our first tea/coffee of the morning in bed. There was adequate car parking outside. The nearby walking was very good, either up or down the dale, so Askrigg was a perfect base. Alison and Michael, the owners, were very friendly and helpful. Having a car is almost essential as although there is a local bus service, it is a bit sparse. Would certainly recommend to others
