Ocean-front beach house

Nestled right on the dunes at Waitarere, this fantastic house offers beautiful views and direct access to the beach—perfect for long walks, sunset strolls, and unwinding.

In summer, make the most of the large section with plenty of great spots to relax—including a covered outdoor dining area. In winter, enjoy the warmth of the cosy woodburner.

The bach is well set up for everyone, with books, games, and magazines for adults, plus toys, swings, and a treehouse to keep the kids entertained.

Sleeping up to six adults, it includes three bedrooms in the main house and a separate sleepout with two bedrooms and its own bathroom, offering a little extra space and privacy.

Great for couples, families, or a weekend away with friends. We’re also dog-friendly—bring your dog along (just keep them off the furniture). The back section is fully fenced for peace of mind.

There's lots to see and do on the Kapiti coast and Horowhenua: food venues, some wonderful little shops, and outdoor adventures and sightseeing. In Waitarere itself we have a fantastic 4Square that does coffee and pastries and has a great range of groceries.

You'll love the view, the sunsets and the walks on the beach. Come and enjoy.

Wow, what a hidden gem tucked into the sandhills at Waitaere beach. A perfectly private spot for an extened family holiday. Beautifuly clean, great outside and inside spaces for kids and adults alike. We loved watching the sunsets while sitting by the fire and felt very privileged to have our own private path through the sand dunes to the beach. Will recommend to friends.

Have enjoyed several stays in this lovely kiwi beach bach with everything you need for a seaside getaway. Comfortable and tidy. Great spot to kick back and take in the sea view. Covered courtyard area fabulous and sheltered for all weathers. Short walk through the dunes to the ever-changing sea/beach and close to 4square for an ice cream and anything you need. Gen made things easy and lovely to deal with. Fantastic place to relax and recharge.

Waitarere Beach Batch

Typical older beach batch. Cute and clean. Had all the things one needs. Kitchen well equipped, free WiFi, comfy beds. We could take our two dogs. A quite large area is fenced and dog safe, that was just great. The beach right there on the doorstep. We stayed for 2 weeks and Waitarere is a cool little place. Thank you.

Relaxing, homely holiday

We stayed at "Ocean-front beach house" for just under a week and had a fab time. From relaxing in front of the fire (with the ample firewood provided) to adventures across the sand dunes and onto the beautiful beach. Gen was very easy to deal with and the information about the house rules etc was very clear. We extended our stay for a night and Gen's communication around this was quick and clear. We definitely hope to be back sometime for another refresh! Thanks

Came to this bach for a 1 night escape. Weather was amazing, the bach is absolute beachfront. Has great indoor outdoor flow. The closed in outdoor area is great too. 10 minute walk for takeaways, such a shame they arent fully operating like a pub anymore. About 1km walk to the pine forest. The dog loved that! Thoroughly enjoyed our time at this bach. Great communication from the host. Thank you so much!
