"Beautiful, picturesque, elegant charm, romantic but also good for families. The hotel was modern but still charming. Rooms were spacious, service was wonderful and the restaurant has been one of the best! Dinner was incredible- everything on the menu. Specifically, the wild boar stew, truffle gnocchi and the Osso Bucco. Pool was perfect and again the views!!!"

The heart of Siena is but an 8 minute drive away and the hotel offers a shuttle service. Explore the palaces, cathedral, ancient sites and restaurants at your own pace before being collected and returned to the hotel where you will find a truly tranquil escape from the city. But it is the staff who deserve the highest praise. Their love of the hotel, its place in the world and how it is part of the local community shine through in every interaction. They are warm, knowledgeable, helpful and care deeply that guests have a truly memorable stay here. If this hotel is the local crown, the staff are the diamonds within it. "We had an excellent experience at Hotel Athena. We chose this hotel mostly because they had car parking included and the room price was reasonable, not knowing much else about where to stay in Siena. The town center is a short walk from the hotel and the staff was very helpful. They recommended a restaurant that was one of the best places we ate on our trip to Italy. Beautiful views from the rooftop restaurant as well. "

"The staff at hotel Minerva were friendly and accommodating. For example, we had a bottle of wine that needed a corkscrew, and they provided not only a corkscrew, but a bucket full of ice. The view from the balcony overlooking Siena really gorgeous. And the location being right beside the city old mediaeval Fortress wall was quite cool to be able to walk around and see the sites. Also, just a 10 minute walk into the city Square. "
