LPG central heating (£5 per day, Oct-Mar), electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner provided, remainder available at cost. Travel cot and highchair available. Garden with patio furniture and BBQ. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. . One of two beautifully converted stone barns, Stable End, sits adjacent to the owners’ home, and is set between the picturesque villages of Altarnun and Polyphant. This beautiful cottage combines mellow stone walls and old beams to create a warm and welcoming environment. Situated on the ground floor the pretty living room is inviting with exposed stonework and electric fire and comfortable sofas to cosy into after a busy day in the countryside. A well-equipped kitchen/dining room is a gathering point for feasts and planning the next days adventure. On the first floor you will find the two bedrooms, both with beamed ceilings. The masted bedroom has an intricately carved four poster bed whilst the twin room has a calming colour palette to ensure a restful nights sleep. Completing the first floor is the large family bathroom, with electric shower over the bath and plenty of getting ready space. An enclosed lawned garden with garden furniture and BBQ for alfresco dining and space for children to run free completes this wonderful holiday let.
The holiday cottages have an elevated position overlooking an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and provide an excellent centre for exploring the coastal paths and moors of both Devon and Cornwall. The Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and several magnificent National Trust houses and gardens are within easy reach, as well the fascinating seaside villages of Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac and the food capital of Cornwall, Padstow. An Ordnance Survey walk passes right by the cottages and the area is a walkers’ paradise. The historic market town of Launceston, 5 miles, offers supermarkets, shops, a castle and sports facilities. Plymouth and its many attractions is 25 miles away. The area has a growing reputation for good pubs, restaurants, farm shops and locally produced food. Admired golf courses, fishing, horse riding and cycle ways can be found nearby. Shops and pub 2 miles.
Stable End can be booked together with The Linhay (GTM) to accomodate up to 10 guests.
