"Great location and wonderful quality rooms"

"Nice big room, clean, and quick to check in. We upgraded for a small amount to a club room. This was supposed to give us a drinks token. This wasn’t offered but the room was nice so didn’t complain. Breakfast was ok- lots of it had been sat out for a while and wasn’t hot. The scrambled eggs had separated and the poached eggs, were rubbery, but there were lots of options. Great location - easy to access lovely restaurants and a show at the Lowry. "

"We arrived early but they allowed us to park up so we could explore. We returned at 3 to check in to our room. On arrival the reception stunk of weed. Through the corridor there was dirty linen just left . We arrived into our room to a musky smell so opened the window which helped. The tv was not working which isn’t an issue but what was is the wire was all broken and just left hanging. The toilet was not clean. Can’t comment on the local area as we used it to sleep and shower after a concert. If I was spending a few days in Manchester I wouldn’t stay again. For a quick concert and on a budget perhaps , as long as it was cleaner"

"Stuck in their car park for two hours. They are meant to have someone employed who ensures there isn’t idiots parked inappropriately & numerous people were parked in non parking spots, blocking myself & others. Even one of their own employees had done it,"

"The room I stayed in was absolutely filthy. Previous guests had clearly been smoking in the room, as the smell of smoke was really strong. We were unable to open the window as it was so high up. The window sill had been used as an ashtray and there were burn marks and ash still visible. The blind couldn't be opened, it was just permanently closed. Assuming in an attempt to hide the window sill. There were holes in either side of the bathroom door, where it had clearly been punched by previous guests. The tap in the sink wasn't fixed properly, and when turned on, the water ran brown! And also there was no hot water. And the TV had clearly been ripped off of the wall at some point, and some attempt was made to fill the hole, but the TV was left leaving on the table with the wall bracket still attached. The carpet was supposed to be yellow and blue geometric style pattern, but it was black. Upon checking in, the staff made no attempt to tell me anything, about how to turn on the hot water, they pointed at a piece of paper with the door code and WiFi password, and that was it. The main door wasn't secure as it was left open several times. And on one occasion through the night someone tried to gain access to our room. Having to listen to people arguing and banging on the front door until the early hours seemed fitting! I was told to have a nice day when checking out though! Thank goodness it was only 1 night! have taken photos for evidence!"

"The air temperature control is a major issue—it keeps turning off on its own, and there’s no way to restart it. You’re left waiting for it to come back on, which can be very uncomfortable. Having a fan in the room would at least help as a backup. Overall, Media City really needs more quality luxury hotel options."
