"I'm afraid Boulder Lodge is taking advantage of its impressive lake views to charge a bit more than is justified. It's the little things: tv not working (intermittent), 3 out of 5 door locks broken, hothouse temperature on 3rd floor. Parking was a minor hassle. WiFi was all but unusable (easily overcome with minor equipment additions). These are things that should be taken care of before they demand a $200+ room charge. "Had a great stay here with our dog. They had really nice toiletries (meyers brand). We made daily use of the kitchen that had everything u could need to cook n clean. They had spices/seasoning, cutlery, pans, toaster, microwave, coffee machine(sweetener,filters, etc.) Felt like a small cozy home and it made it so easy that we didn’t have to bring all the things."

"Spent three nights. This was our base camp for Yosemite. (I'm a hiker, not a camper.) The park is technically up the road about 16 miles, but it is the south entrance and you still have to travel a bit for the main stuff. If there was no line to get into the park, as was the case two of our mornings since we were on the road at 4:00 or 6:00 for our long hikes, it took us about an hour and 20 minutes to get to Yosemite Valley. It is a bit of a drive, but very doable. We did wait in line the other two days but it's Yosemite during the summer. The sequoia trees and Glacier Point are actually close to that entrance, so that worked perfect on that day. The hotel was spacious and comfortable. The beds were great. The pool and hot tub were really nice after a long day hiking. The breakfast (the one day it worked for our schedule) was great. Friendly staff. Several eateries in the vicinity; very accessible. Would definitely stay here again."
