Seaside Spanish Casa, Just Steps to the World Famous Windansea Beach of La Jolla

Built in 1926 (remodeled 2012), we offer you a comfortable beach vacation experience in this Seaside Spanish Home located in La Jolla just steps from the world famous Windansea Beach.

Stroll along the Pacific Ocean on the boardwalk or in the sand, walk to restaurants, coffee shops and a grocery store in this safe and charming neighborhood. Less dense and quieter than Pacific Beach and Mission Beach, a real neighborhood with mostly year-round locals as neighbors.

This 1850 sq ft single-family home, steps to the world famous Windansea Beach is in a quiet, beachy neighborhood of La Jolla. You are sure to feel at home in this well-appointed beach house.

Enjoy the historical aspects of the house, the high coved ceilings, wood burning fireplace and original hardwood floors. Also included are 3 bedrooms (King, Queen, 2 Twin beds), 2 full bathrooms, a spacious living room, dining room, breakfast nook/home office, additional queen air mattress, well stocked kitchen, laundry machines, laundry soap, towels, shampoo/conditioner, hairdryers, 2 pack 'n plays with mattresses and fitted sheets, stroller, toys, beach toys, beach wagon, surf boards, boogie boards, beach chairs, cooler, umbrella, games, books, TVs with roku, and more! It’s easy and fun to prepare a delicious meal using the modern appliances in your charming kitchen with a gas range.

A BBQ, built in table/benches and two off-street, tandem parking places are located in the back patio. The front of the house is south facing and has a large green grassy yard with views of the ocean to the west.

Savor the salty air and see incredible sunsets, including an occasional Green Flash when the horizon is a clear crisp line. Land's end here, where the Pacific kisses the California coast is hard to top. Come to La Jolla and find out why we call it the The Jewel.

Fully equipped for cooking healthy meals. Laundry facilities, washer & dryer, very good with laundry soap right there. Netflix easy access with our ‘code’—nice. We had a great stay at Paula's place. The location could not be beat - could hear the ocean from our open windows! And also walk to neighborhood restaurants, local market, and great coffee. Would I call it "first class accommodations"? Not exactly. Upholstered furniture is a little worn, mattresses & linens were not the most comfortable, at least one bedroom lacked a/c, etc. But it was a really good value for the money, Paula was a communicative and kind host, and I would book again.

Our family had a wonderful week at the beach, getting together in this lovely home. There is plenty space inside for having relaxed dinners, catching up with children and grandchildren. The home has everything needed for a comfortable stay, the toy cupboard was particularly brilliant for the children's imagination. Paula is very responsive and helpful for any needs. Great times!

Absolutely Perfect Stay – Like Coming Home to San DiegoIt was the perfect fit for our family of five, including two adult children. The location is ideal—just steps from the beach and walking distance to coffee shops. Traveling from across the country, it made such a difference to have beach towels, chairs, carts, surfboards, and even a grill with a dedicated gas line ready for us.I grew up in San Diego and hadn’t been back in years, so this trip was very meaningful. I wanted a more local, lived-in experience rather than a touristy one, and this home delivered. The house was well-stocked with everything we needed—dishes, towels, full-size soaps, laundry and cleaning supplies, and even little thoughtful extras like fans and board games.The AC units worked great, but we mostly enjoyed the ocean breeze with the windows open. We especially appreciated the unscented linens, as our family is very sensitive to fragrance. Small details like the lush front lawn and hose for rinsing off after the beach made our stay even more enjoyable.Most of all, Paula was the most responsive, thoughtful host we’ve ever had—always in touch within minutes and truly helpful. We’re already planning our return for next summer. This stay was incredibly special to us. If we could give six stars, we would!

This home is in a great location, just a short walk up the street to the beach. They offered everything we needed including boogie boards, beach umbrella and chairs, etc. My only major complaint is that the home doesn't have central a/c, they have a window a/c unit in the dining room for the common spaces, and another in the window of the master bedroom. Unfortunately, we went in mid July and both of my boy's bedrooms were very hot with no a/c. We tried everything, including leaving their bedroom doors open and opening their bedroom windows, and using the fans that were provided, but the rooms were still very hot and they routinely woke up sweating. Besides that, we had a wonderful experience and the host was very nice and accommodating.

Incredible place!!

Our stay here was fantastic! The house was extremely nice, the owners were extremely accommodating and friendly, and the proximity to the ocean was incredible! There is so much to do in La Jolla and a lot of it is very walkable. The whole experience was very memorable. We would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking to relax and enjoy some time near the beach. The beach is literally about a 1 minute walk down the hill from the house.

Wonderful home away from home !

This was my first time ever booking a house for a trip. One daughter was getting married in La Jolla and I thought a house, rather than a hotel would be better for 5 adults and a toddler. This place was perfect! It was clean and comfortable, stocked with all the essentials, and a short walk to the beach. It was perfect for us! Communication with Paula was easy as well.

Multigenerational Family Vacation 9 months - 60!

We had a great stay at this property. Quiet and clean. All was as described. Close to beach, restaurants and grocery stores. We took daily walks by the shore and the Coastal Walking Trail. We went to the Zoo, Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala, USS Midway and Seaport Village. We picked up evening meals from the Promiscuous Fork twice and several meals from The Taco Stand! Evenings were quiet with a kid friendly movie in the lovely living room. We would be happy to stay in this home again and recommend it!

We drove from AZ to meet NY sisters who flew in to CA for the first time! Showed them all over San Diego, LaJolla location was perfect - in between downtown and then north beaches up to Carlsbad. I have NEVER stayed at a VRBO with such a responsive host like Paula!! Returned emails - all my questions - so quickly. The neighborhood is beautiful ... really enjoyed watching the surfers.

Great family vacation house

We loved staying here and were so impressed by the amount of things for a young family at the home to make our vacation so much easier and more enjoyable. The location was perfect and an easy walk to the beach with young kids. I would definitely stay at this house again!

Charming vintage seaside home

Perfect Windansea beach locale, wonderful strolling—and running, people watching, sunsets every night. The residential neighborhood quiet, one-of-a-kind 1920s cottages, architecture. Well-stocked kitchen, best VRBO kitchen we’ve experienced, appreciate. Bring warm pjs & socks for chilly evenings. Good heating from vented heaters, though an intermittent clang. Very close to grocery & two very different taco shops, repeat visits to Promiscuous Fork. TV not hooked up to WiFi, so bring your Netflix code (we didn’t). Responsive host, replaced failed coffeemaker right away, thanks. We enjoyed our stay.
