"We love Villas Del Rio and have returned 8 . It’s a safe and well cared for Oasis in the middle of Escazú. Convenient to restaurants, shopping and Dental offices across the street. A great place to stay while in San Jose. They provide transportation to and from SJO and free breakfast daily. The staff are friendly and helpful and they make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Mauricio is wonderful and has helped us a great deal with transportation and other services to enhance our visit. ...

"Very hard to find, then when you finally get there it’s not marked—looks like a house, and then they send you to another location. And finally, when we got to our room, we were told the water would be shut off from 10-4am., but they would provide a gallon of water. But they didn’t bring the water and the waiter was shut off before 10. Then they finally brought some water. The room had lots of closet space and bathroom had a lot of places to set things. The shower was cold only."

"This hotel seemed to be mostly well kept. They did not have AC which was a bit of a downside. The staff at the desk does not often speak English, although the manager/owner does, so be prepared to use your Spanish! Getting Uber is convenient and easy to do from the hotel. I had a shuttle that left to my next destination at 2:00pm on check out day, but the hotel did not allow for late checkouts. They were willing to keep my luggage though while I waited. They allowed me to wait at the property....

"The pictures on the website are misleading. The hotel rooms look nothing like the pictures. The towels were very dingy looking and very old. The bedding looked like it had been washed by putting it in a sink. The shower had grime in the corners and where you had to stand. there was no shower curtain so when you showered the bathroom floor would be a giant puddle when you were done. I pulled the blankets back the first night i was there and the top sheet had stains on it. I had to remove it from...
