"We have stayed here around 5 times. Still a great older style hotel with good rooms, great location and adequate breakfast. Superior room bathroom is looking a bit tired. Upgrade is required to replace tiles and grout. Breakfast could be improved with freshly made pancakes, bacon and an automated coffee machine."

"The original room that was allocated to us wasn't what we booked & paid for. We had to wait another day & a half before we were allocated the room we paid for. The rooms are comfortable but in need of some maintenance / renovations. Unfortunately, the pool rules are not regulated or monitored as there was a number of occasions where the was unruly behavior left to disturb the patrons. Having said this, the staff are very friendly, as is everyone in Bali. We will be returning."

"In the heart of all the action, my own little private oasis. Booked a deluxe room with private pool and it was lush. Huge room and space with an amazing and suoer large private pool. The staff were super friendly and accommodating and the resort grounds were set up in a typical frangipan filled green Balinese style. Such a great and relaxing stay. My only recommendation is an update to the restaurant and breakfast offering... this would really elevate the stay experience. "

"From the time we arrived which was 12.30pm we were told our room was ready and we could check in early. We were greeted on arrival with a cold refreshing Lemongrass Tea and some delicious dried Broad Beans. We arrived in our room 107 to the most beautiful smell which was an oil burner with an exotic smell in oil our bathroom. "Villa Kayu Raja is in a good location, but not really walkable to restaurants or the beach, especially at night. The sidewalk ends a bit before the villa, so you’re left walking in the busy street. The villa itself is nice, but I was unimpressed with the private pool. It is very small and the yard itself is deceiving in size from the pictures. Virtually no sunlight comes into the pool area as well, so the pool is a bit chilly and you aren’t able to do any sun tanning. The price is a bit steep...
