The bungalows are in perfect location of the beach, where you still have access to the white sandy beach, but also far away from the partying part of the island to relax. It's only a 5 min walk to the restaurants/bars/partying part of the stretch of the beach.
The staff were helpful, like everywhere in Cambodia. The reception/bar/restaurant, all rolled into one, has nice enough food and sufficient choice of drinks.
Appreciate the fact that the entire island is run on diesel generators, trying to preserve as much of the nature of possible. However, with that in mind, the Bungalows do not have hot water and the tap water has a strong smell of rust. So bring plenty of water in with you before you call it a night. There are no fridges or kettles in the bungalows wither.
Also, try not to leave anything shiny or food on the balconies, the monkeys will come and either take them or try to fight you to get them!
Basically, these bungalows are a step up from camping, but the experience was worth the lack of small comforts.
