One of the eye-catchers on the air show was the Ukrainian Sukhoi Su-27.
The Su-27 (NATO code name ‘Flanker’) is an amazingly agile interceptor that is among the best of the world in dogfighting, despite its impressive size. It was developed during the 1980s in what was then the Soviet-Union in response to American fighters like the F-15, F-16 and F-18. The SU-27 is the pride of the Ukrainian air force, a country that is part of the ‘Partnership for Peace’ with NATO and is as such also a partner to the Belgian air force.

"Had a wonderful stay in this newly renovated loft. Right in the middle of Eindhoven so walking distance to the attractions and restaurants in the area. 15 minute walk to the train station so easy to get to and from the airport and neighbouring cities. Check in was easy. You get a PIN code for the doors. Two floors up above the Bakkertje Bol. Steps are modernized. Wider than some of the other older buildings but still steep. "Generally, entire experience was good. I wish the rooms had AC and actual windows, not the shutters. A couple things I did not like: I left the do not disturb sign all days I was there and 2 of the days housekeeping still went in the room. One of those times we were just waking up. Another issue I had was the late night reception guy was not very friendly and seemed bothered by our presence in the bar/restuarant area. One of the nights there was a man at the bar talking to him. This man inserted himself into a conversation that was a misunderstanding between my husband and the attendant. He was rude and it took me great restraint not to tell him off. The restaurant staff was nice during breakfast hours. And the day attendants were also very nice. "
