"Dian Fossey Hotep is one of the more unique places Iāve stayed due to the artwork around the facility. Paintings and statues depicting Rwandan traditional culture and wildlife adorn the grounds and hotel. The staff are very kind and helpful."
"The staff are wonderful, both kind and efficient. The reception were helpful and made one feel so welcome on arrival. Getting there at night can be tricky as google maps is wrong while there are few signposts showing the way. The setting is fantastic and what a tranquil and relaxing place! Great place to see Nyungwe forest from."

However Two of the three rooms had stuffed drains in the bathrooms that caused flooding on the floor. The staff left the key for one of rooms that they had to rearrange to seperate beds upon arrival locked in another room causing the teens to have to wait along time

"They placed me in a room that reeked of mold and mosquito chemicals. When I requested a different room, the staff sprayed deodorant in the one next to mineāI could hear it clearly. When I asked about it, she confirmed it. That response was both unprofessional and unacceptable. I left the property within minutes, wheezing and with a pounding headache."

"My experience was slightly affected by the fact that I stayed in low season, and at a time when there was political instability along the border with DRC nearby. Hence I was the only guest for most of my time at the hotel which generated a slightly odd feeling.
However, the suite I was allocated to was absolutely beautiful, incredibly spacious and spotlessly clean.
The view into the rainforest from the private patio at the rear of the suite was fantastic and perfect for relaxation.
The quality of the food in the hotel restaurant was of the highest class, and although the waiting staff were possibly slightly over-attentive (because I was the only diner most of the time) they were really friendly & professional.
Reception staff gave me great advice regarding how to arrange activities in the park, inc contact details for the park guides.
I had a great couple of days at the hotel and would thoroughly recommend it. "
"The staff at this property were extremely nice and friendly. The journey from Kigali however was stressful. I recommend renting a jeep or a car with high tires as the roads leading to the accommodation are bad. "

"The hotel is positioned right across from the lake. Beautiful and tranquil property. Breakfast mostly fruits, eggs, juice, coffee and African tea. The rooms need upgrades, remodeling, better colors on the wall, better paintings. TV in the room did not work. WiFi here is terribly bad and horrible. Those things management and owners need to take into account and fix it. Also, when you pay for your stay thru Expedia they automatically receive notification that customer paid but when you check in they keep asking to show proof that you paid which is absurd and ridiculous. Other than that the place is beautifu. From hotel to city center by moto taxi is RFW1,000, don't pay more. Boat ride outside of the hotel is RWF15,000 for one hour. I would not recommend hot spring because is not hygienic, dirty and trashy. "
