Built in AD 1571, the Jami Mosque at Fatehpur Sikri marks the phase of transition in Islamic art as the indigenous architectural elements were blended with the Persian architecture. This photograph is of the niche in the wall of the mosque towards which the congregation faces to pray and what is known as the mihrab. Adorned with inlaid mosaic of stones that are bordered by glazed tiles and golden inscriptions on royal blue background, the stunning structure has been taken over by natural elements and several bee hives can be seen arching into walls. #StunningStructures #architecture #natureoverman
