"The Avon Motel is a value considering their prices. It is clean and the basic amenities are jn working order. The owners are friendly and accommodating. The beach is close but for an elderly person hard to get on and off due to the large dune. There are some really good restaurants in the Avon-Buxton area. I have gone there for many years but will need to find a motel with more amenities and easier beach access."

"David and Misty are great hosts, very responsive and the description of their place is right on point.They have everything! Kids bikes, adult bikes, trailer hitch if you want to lug your stuff to the beach. It’s a 5 min bike ride to the beach. Inflatable paddle boards, boogie boards, lawn games and buckets!The house is all clean and all updated! Perfect for a family of 5 plus a dog! We had a great time and this place is a must return if hitting OBX beaches of the infamous route 12 strip! Thanks for the memories hidden gem!"

"Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, in a convenient location, and a great value for the size. A couple minor things to be aware of: the walk from the parking area to the house is fairly long and the mosquitoes along that path were brutal. There are also a ton of light switches that aren’t labeled, so we spent a lot of time flipping switches trying to figure out what controlled what. We never did figure out how to turn on a couple of the ceiling fans. The TV area also isn’t the best setup if you have a larger family wanting to watch a movie together. Those were all pretty minor complaints though. Overall, we were happy with the house, enjoyed our week in Avon, and felt like we got a lot for our money."

"Overall very nice experience. Its a little far out from some shops and busy traffic which was fine by us we just traveled alot. The house was cleaned and up-to-date. They provided with enough linens. Only wish we had a couple more blankets for the elders. The hottub was amazing everyone enjoyed it. I liked how most bedrooms were upstairs and down stairs was easier to assess elders.The only really complaint is the beach was further than I really expected. The Dunes where really high and it was hard for my elderly father and mother in law to have easy access. We also rented a cart to hall our kids stuff and chairs back and forth and it was hard to get to go in sand but up hill made it harder.We would definitely rent again."
