"It could be a lovely hotel if the staff smiled and had a clue what was going on. There was a lovely and friendly lady on reception, and one of the waiter serving in the evening was friendly, as was one of the bar staff (Josh). Everyone else seemed a bit surprised to have guests, and the women working at the bar weee positively rude in their demeanour. It could definitely do with an injection of cash to update it. "Cliveden is truly an amazing place to experience! We have stayed here before and this time was even better. Their staff is also absolutely amazing! We had quite a journey getting to England because our original flight to Paris was canceled so we got to Paris later than anticipated and then the trains to England were down because of the heat wave so we couldn't get to London as originally planned either. After over 24 hours of airports and traveling, canceled flights, missing non refundable...

"I stayed on a weekend. There was events on but staff were well organised and friendly. Breakfast was great"

"No phone in the room and no left had to take stairs to our room which was quite far from the reception"

"The property is very clean, beautiful and well refurbished and right in the heart of Marlow. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food itself (breakfast) was a bit poor but OK. We didn't have any hot water to take a shower unfortunately but stayed only 1 night anyway. The room itself which was the only one available during booking was very very snug and air circulation at night made a bit stuffy but we would visit again , hopefully get a bigger room and hot water."

"Convenient location not far from Heathrow to book for the night after our afternoon arrival from Australia. We discovered the town of Marlow was a lovely spot to explore along the River Thames, which was an added bonus. Room was clean and comfortable, and we slept well after our long journey. Excellent breakfast, so many delicious options and fried eggs cooked to order. Highly recommend!"

"High price for a very small room. You have a window but have to use the blind for privacy as you are at a travel stop. Smokers hangout at most entrances. The room is so small it is smaller than my Class C RV. The washroom is a toilet in a room, between that "room" and the bunk bed is a shower with slightly frosted glass door and a mirror across from it so your wife and or kid can watch you clean yourself in the morning. The good thing about this hotel is it is conveniently located on the M way...

"Hotel was lovely staff was really helpful both in the hotel and bar. Bedroom was lovely and thankyou for putting fans in the room for us. There was a hair on the bathroom floor and one of the taps moved when turned on, if in shower to long it would over flow"

"Great hotel especially for the price, having a pool to use was great! Plenty of parking available too. Good to note, there is no air con in standard rooms, I knew this when booking and it wasn’t an issue at all. it was the middle of a heatwave and the room was a bit warm but it’s unusual weather for the UK so I suspect during normal weather it would be absolutely fine."

"On arrival, staff were informative and helpful. Room was extremly small (as expected) but fine for 1 night. Plenty of dust but its because everything is black so even if you have just cleaned, it looks dusty. Drinks and pool area nice, not the cheapest but acceptable. Food in thai was nice and didnt have to wait very long. Room and various areas of the hotel are in need of fixing (cracked mirrors, sinks etc) the property design is so high mai tence its almost impossible to keep this interior...

"It does exactly what it says on the tin. I always stay here during Henley royal regatta. It’s not cheap and this time the room was a bit small, but generally it’s all good. Staff were super nice. For me, a bonus is having Waitrose and another supermarket just a few minutes away. Means I don’t have to buy hotel food."

"Room was in a loft, VERY hot and stuffy. Asked for a fam or something, was not available. The bed was on wheels on hard floor, so kept moving throughout the night. VERY uncomfortable sleep. Bathroom had dark brown and purple marks on the mirror and hair on the floor. They have a pool table downstairs, but you have to pay £5 per hour for. They have a coffee sign outside, but no coffee. Would not stay here again, disappointing."

"Fantastic staff at reception on all shifts,doing over expectations. The housekeeper on level 4 very considerate and wanting to help. Now the reason it gets 4 not 5. For the 1st time the cooked breakfast swas exactly the same for the 3 mornings: scrambled eggs, same sausages,had brown,tomatoes, bacon. Other have stopped the eggs for fried or omelette and mushrooms or tomatoes. Individual yogurts, boiled eggs and milk in a fridge. I have mentioned this to the morning Receptionist when I left."
