We throughly enjoyed our stay! The views, the amenities, and location was absolutely superb! Our host was MORE than accommodating and communicative! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY and Host!!!
Great for two families with kids. Must be able to walk uphill/stairs if want to walk to downtown. TV/wifi worked well. Kitchen well stocked with any mini appliances one might need.
House has great view of the downtown harbor and just 5 minutes walk to the downtown Ketchikan. Also it has great large modern kitchen and living room. Host is very nice and responsive. We really enjoyed the stay!
Vacationing in Alaska for the 1st time with my best friend & her 13-year-old niece. We were all very happy & comfortable here! Condo is located close to downtown on a steep hill over-looking the fjord. It is newly built with modern, stainless steel appliances, large counter-tops, & comfortable, new furniture. The color scheme is relaxing & pleasing to the eye. The layout was spacious & cozy with two floors. The upper has a roomy kitchen, living room, & dining nook. Lots of large windows let in natural light & look out onto the water. One of our favorite things to do here was sit at the high kitchen table & watch all the boats, cruise ships, barges, & sea-float planes come & go through the fjord. Grateful for the binoculars provided by the host! Beautiful, iridescent floral pattern on side widows provided privacy & blackout blinds on all the windows blocked out the spotlights from boats at night. Casement windows open for full ventilation. Upper balcony is spacious with patio chairs. Down the hall is a bathroom with a large shower & a small washer/dryer set. Dryer is not so great, it kept turning off before the cycle was complete & it was VERY difficult to get our clothes completely dry. However, when we brought this issue up with the host, she very graciously offered to come pick up our clothes & dry them at her house vs. spending money at the laundromat to have them dried. We thought it was pretty neat she offered to do that! The upstairs bedroom has two twin beds, a large HDTV, & two spacious closets. No water view from upstairs bedroom. The master suite downstairs is quite lovely with a private balcony, large windows, a spacious bedroom area with a queen-size bed & a cozy sitting area with two deep barrel chairs. HDTV. The master bathroom is simply magnificent with a HUGE, deep, rectangular tub, his & her sinks, & a large, walk-in closet with plenty of storage space.
Neighbors above us & on both sides in adjacent buildings/houses were quite loud at times. There is a steep set of stairs leading down to the condo landing that was VERY SLIPPERY when wet! We recommend traction strips on the stairs, better lighting at night, & perhaps a second handrail for safety. We also recommend safety rails or handles in the bathrooms as there is nothing to hold onto as you're entering & exiting the tub or shower. More coat hooks & towel racks would also be appreciated. Coffee pot does not turn off automatically. Very pleased with our accomodations!
Excellent outlook for boats, weather , birds, planes.
Very straightforward.
The place is well set up. We got a water kettle for boiling water for tea - just personal taste for us.
42 steps from street might be a challenge for some.
Easy access down hill to town on foot.

Awesome View and Location!
This property was perfect for us! We love being away from the crowds but close enough to walk to shopping, restaurants, etc. The view of the ocean with all the boats, float planes, cruise ships, etc. was entertaining as well as beautiful. It was better than watching a movie.
The studio apt was a perfect size for two, comfortable, and well-equipped. We enjoyed eating at Annabelles with the best salmon chowder ever! We rented a car one day to see outside Ketchikan, driving north and south to see more totem pole parks. Take the Misty Fjord Tour by Allen Marine boats which is incredible. Have a microbrew at Arctic Bar. Cape Fox Hotel has a great view. Shopping is excellent in Ketchikan but try to find locally owned shops with genuine AK items, away from the cruiselines owned shops on the waterfront. Mary and her son Gabe are very accommodating, helping you have the best stay possible. Enjoy Ketchikan from the Nantucket Penthouse Suite!

Perfect Ketchikan House
Nantucket Penthouse Suite is an ideal place to stay in Ketchikan. The most beautiful views of Ketchikan from the living room window and the back deck. I needed a place to stay that didn't require a vehicle and this was the perfect location. I was able to walk to most all of the sites in Ketchikan. A short cab ride up to Knudson Cove to kayak and see the whales. Everything else I did was walkable. The owner was very accommodating in every way. Highly recommend!

Nantucket
This house is owned/operated by good people. If you do not mind walking up steep hills...the location is perfect. It is all about the view here. The downstairs or upstairs units are nice. I recommend this place

Outstanding Ketchikan Home. Scott - San Diego, Ca
Our stay at the Ketchikan Nantucket House couldn't have been better and we will definitely be back. Great location being able to walk to everything. Very clean comfortable home. Great furnishings and much larger than what the pictures show.
The view is spectacular from the living room and the large deck with patio furniture makes the home even larger. Great view from the deck as well. Someone mentioned that the home is surprisingly quiet being so close to the cruise ship terminal and we have to agree hardly heard a sound.
Caught so many salmon I am going to have to give a bunch away to neighbors, family, and friends.
Can't wait to come back to Ketchikan and the Nantucket House will be first on our list.
Cheers!

Wonderful place to stay in downtown Ketchikan!
We just got back from our first trip to Ketchikan and we were thrilled to be able to stay at this wonderful rental! We had originally booked the Island Suite because the Penthouse was already booked, but when the Penthouse had a cancellation, the owners upgraded us to the Penthouse at no extra charge! We loved staying in the Penthouse and enjoyed the amazing views. The rental was very clean, comfortable, and amazingly quiet for being right downtown! We would definitely recommend the Alaskan Nantucket House for anyone spending time in Ketchikan. We are looking forward to staying there again!

The Alaskan Nantucket House is wonderful!
The photos of the Penthouse Suite, beautiful as they are, do not do it justice. This comfortable apartment is immaculately clean, beautifully furnished, and tastefully decorated. Gabe and Mandi could not have been more gracious, and they seem to have anticipated our every need. The walk downtown to the docks was quick, and it was an easy drive to all out-of-town activities we pursued. We enjoyed dinner and morning coffee on the deck in this quiet neighborhood and were delighted with our vantage point for water, mountain, and harbor activity. My family and I sincerely recommend the Alaskan Nantucket House as the perfect homebase for a Ketchikan adventure.

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!! - y...
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!! - you will not find a more comfortable location or better view of the harbor, Ketchikan and the mountains than that from the Penthouse of the Alaskan Nantucket House. Mandi & Gabe are perfect hosts and their knowledge of the wildlife and how to enjoy it is something that you will not often find. I should probably not make such positive comments or I won't be able to get a spot when we are back in Ketchikan.
