Ketchikan was a great town to visit. Lots of fishing options, shops, food and history.

Good
Its a lay over point for mainly fishermen/ cruise ships. Lots of typical tourist stuff. But it has the charm of "The Last Frontier". But its a little expensive for the basic things like food. And its wet. But it is Alaska

Good
It was nice to be a bit out of town, and not overun with all the cruise ship people. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Both restaurants were good, and the shuttle and bus system made transportation easy.

"Our family group of 10 adults stayed here for a week. It was amazing! Beautiful home with incredible views! Best stocked Vrbo I have ever stayed at. Plenty of room and the owners were terrific to work with! I highly recommend this house and would stay here again in a heartbeat!!"
"Stayed for a week and enjoyed every minute. The view out of the two picture windows facing the ocean was mesmerizing for two land-locked folks from Nebraska. The unit was very clean, new and nicely decorated. Kitchen appliances, utensils, pots and pans, glasses, plates and bowls all very clean and high quality. Saw star fish from the chairs overlooking the water one day, and an eagle perched within 30 feet of our window on another day. Drive into Ketchikan is quick, as well as the drive to Herring Cove in the other direction only a few miles away where you can view bears. We would definitely stay here again if our travels took us back to Ketchikan."
"Nice location from the ferry terminal to the airport but bus is needed from downtown. Local grocery is next to the hotel.
Room is clean and enough spacious. Kitchen is convenient but no kitchenware for cooking."
"If you are staying at a hotel in the summer, this is the place to stay in Ketchikan for a quiet, serene, Alaska experience. I had to leave a review just to mention they provide an assortment of pillows on your bed so you can find one to your preference. It’s those thoughtful little things as well as the welcome notes in your room that make this place special.
The restaurant on-site is a large circular log building with sweeping views of the water and waterfalll off to the side. We had the breakfast buffet, lunch, dinner, and drinks at the bar during our stay this week and each experience was nice and didn’t feel rushed.
