"Central location close to beach area and Peir. The town centre only 10 mins walk away. Gave first impressions of being clean and well appointed. Professional staff and the opportunity to check-in before the alloted 3pm, rare by todays standard. Generous room size but we noticed several scuff marks on the walls in the hallways and in the room. Whilst not major, this could be easily rectified by using a magic sponge and would give a better first impression and overall feel. This hotel is advertised as a spa hotel, yet there is a fee to use the facilities; spa cited as £35 per hour. I'm unsure how well used this is but in the interests of additional business would it be better to offer residents free 45 mins use, with a view to charging for any extra or subsequent additional time. Other than this we loved our stay, quiet and relaxing, we would certainly consider returning. "

"This hotel promised much but fell short in a number of different areas, namely around the room and en-suite. For a 4 star hotel the room was worn around the edges for example the plug socket for the kettle didn't work and the strings for the blinds were broken and then knotted. In addition, the main blind in the bedroom had masking tape on it. A 4 star hotel should have better quality fittings. However on the positive side, the bed was big and comfortable, and the staff were pleasant. Although you could argue they could have been more attentive and friendly. I hope Drakes Hotel see this too and use these comments to improve. "

"What a great place to stay, the staff were amazing so welcoming. A great Italian close by very close to the sea. Breakfast was fabulous!!!"

"Nice clean room on 4th floor with great sea view. Breakfast was delicious. Nice and central with easy walk to shops, bars and restaurants . You will need a restaurant for your evening meal as the hotel restaurant becomes a cabaret bar in evening. It does seem to be Drag artist Cabaret every night,if you like that. We would stay again."

"Hotel is in great location, conveniently located for the lanes area and beachfront. Room was light airy and spacious and clean. Unfortunately the window view was obscured somewhat which was in need of attention, awaiting contractors to carry out. Recompense was provided to take this into account. Hotel staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Parking available which was very helpful."
