Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort

Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort

10/10 Excellent
"We had a fantastic vacation here. The resort was beautiful, relaxing, great staff and service. We had several amazing dinners at Moana, the New York strip was phenomenal, grilled prawns were delicious, the house sourdough bread was on point, wine selection was good. Breakfast at Moana was also great, the French toast and the omelette should not be passed up. We also had dinner at the four seasons one night and it was not even close to being as good as Moana. The beach is a relaxing vibe, never felt crowded, just a serene view with relaxing waves to listen to, we had lunch and drinks at the shipwreck bar, grilled fish Baja tacos and ceviche with Island lagers really nailed it. They have a complimentary coffee bar open at 530 am with fresh fruit and the chocolate croissant was delicious , we did that every morning and worked out in the gym which has everything you need. Only comments which are not really complaints but could be improved, dinner at Kahuwai cookhouse could be better, the burger didn’t really impress for the price, bbq oysters also didn’t impress, needed more flavor on both, seems a missed opportunity for them to not have wood fired pizza or just a more bbq over fire focused menu, we would have loved that. Overall I would give it a 10/10, we will come back and plan to visit other Rosewood resorts after this."

"This place was in the perfect location to explore Kona. It exceeded our expectations and was exactly as described. The beds were really comfortable, the kitchen was huge and there was ample space for our family of 7. The pool, treehouse and backyard were great for the family. I would definitely love to stay here again."

"Great host and great vibe! The perfectly positioned upper level made the breeze flowing through each day and night a major plus. I love the sound of coqui at night. The place is a lot bigger than the pics show and we loved cooking in the kitchenb"

Beautiful Pool with Stunning Ocean and Sunset Views

Beautiful Pool with Stunning Ocean and Sunset Views

8/10 Good
"We enjoyed our stay overall, and the home had several features that worked well for our family. The pool was a great way to cool off after spending time at the beach, and we appreciated the large selection of beach gear, including water shoes in a variety of sizes. The location was convenient for exploring the island, and there was plenty of space for everyone to gather, both on the lanai and around the kitchen island. There were a few areas that could be improved. The home was missing some basic essentials that we’ve come to expect in a vacation rental, such as paper towels, laundry detergent, and extra pool and beach towels. The house also does not have air conditioning, which made the middle part of the day quite hot. Additional fans would make a big difference in keeping the home more comfortable. The BBQ grill was another disappointment. It didn’t heat well, and burgers took about 30 minutes to cook. Even then, I had to finish cooking them on the stove inside. One other issue we encountered was with the TV. It required a PIN to download additional streaming apps, and unfortunately the host did not know the PIN. While watching TV isn’t a priority on a Hawaiian vacation, our family was hoping to watch the World Cup together, and we ended up streaming it on a cell phone and laptop instead.Overall, the home has a lot of potential thanks to its location, pool, beach gear, and spacious layout. Addressing these few items would make the experience much more enjoyable."

HALE LIO KAI: GORGEOUS HOME WITH POOL, HOT TUB & STUNNING OCEAN/SUNSET VIEWS

10/10 Excellent
"Our family had an extraordinary stay at this beautiful home on the Big Island! From the moment we arrived, we felt comfortable and welcomed. The house is thoughtfully designed, beautifully decorated, and had more than enough space for our entire family to relax. One of our favorite touches was all of the beach amenities that were provided. Having beach towels, boogie boards, and other beach gear available made our days at the beach so easy and enjoyable. The location is also fantastic—it's conveniently close to the airport and just a short drive to several amazing beaches. The pool, hot tub, and oversized hammock were truly the cherry on top of an already incredible stay. After long days of exploring, it was so nice to come back, relax, and unwind, and my oldest son especially loved spending time in the hammock. The only suggestion I would offer is that adding window treatments in the kitchen would be helpful. During sunset, the afternoon sun shines directly into the kitchen, making it quite warm while preparing dinner. Shades or blinds would make an already wonderful space even more comfortable.Overall, this home exceeded our expectations, and we would absolutely stay here again. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, well-equipped, comfortable, and conveniently located place to stay on the Big Island. Mahalo for helping our family create such wonderful memories—we can't wait to return!"

"The house was clean, nice layout, great Wi-Fi and plenty of room.We didn’t get a chance to grill because the grill was no good rusted out and that’s one of our biggest things we like to do as a family when we go on vacation vacations but besides that the pool was great but very hot with no air-conditioning.Thanks again"
