"This is an older property, but it is well maintained, very clean, and moderately priced. Beautiful oceanside location that is a short drive from Volcanoes National Park. Our only contact with staff was with the security person who took care of our late check in for our one night stay. He was very helpful and pleasant. We would absolutely stay here again. "

"We have been having great experiences in Hawaii at every place we have stayed so far. But I have to mention something special about this property. We stayed here only for one night -but every bit of it was worth it. The staff at the reception desk on 20 th evening - her name is Ipo - was just amazing! We just mentioned that our younger one’s birthday is on 21 st and we wanted to know if there was an option of getting a cake somewhere. Not only she arranged a cake as a courtesy , she got beautiful garland and a cute birthday card signed by the staffs for our little one and had everything ready to be picked up at the front desk at 11 at night! We travel all around the world - this was so special ! We never experienced this kind of hospitality anywhere before ! They didn’t have to do any of it - we would still love the property - its location right on the water - beautiful view from the balcony - the excellent service by the staffs at the restaurant! We couldn’t ask for anything more ! It will be nice to come back again ! Thank you Ipo and thank you all the staffs ! "

"We absolutely loved the property - it was a peaceful, tropical retreat. The guest house was super clean and very well provisioned and the grounds were beautifully landscaped. There were pineapples, papayas, plumeria, orchids and so much more. It was so relaxing to sit on the lanai in the evening with a cool drink and listen to the sounds of the tree frogs and the burbling of the koi pond."

"Nice spot for a night. Enjoyed the pool and paddle board. You need to carry it across the street and down to the entry area (and it may have wake so sitting or kneeling might be better than standing). This is more motel and basic accommodations, but the service is very friendly and each booking removes trash from the island and helps local organizations. Location is good especially if you have a car to explore around Hilo proper. You’re not far from the airport so you may occasionally hear planes loudly over the hotel. I only noticed 3 so they didn’t wake me up (or maybe they don’t fly often during the night)."
