"Very clean hostel and friendly staff. The baths were excellent. My wife and I were also very happy with our tatami rooms.The breakfast was good as well. especially the clam chowder. Would recommend to a friend. "

"A great, affordable hotel right by Gora station - perfect location for exploring Hakone. We opted for a private room which was lovely and comfortable. The onsen facilities are only open to guests and while small are very pleasant, and the number of people is limited at any one time. Even the snacks and drinks in the minibar were very reasonably priced and locally sourced. Thoroughly recommended!"

"The view is spectacular from the balcony you can clearly see the ocean view and it’s in a convenient location 5mins away from the station and the shotengai."

"Beautiful scenery and view. The staff is lovely and the atmosphere with the other guests is great. The commune room has a beautiful antique wooden floor and views on the forest! We stayed in a tatami room and it was clean and felt very homely. "

"The property is in the very best location at Motohakone. Direct view of Mount Fuji the otherside of Lake Ashi. The checking in process was a lot better than some of teh reviews here. We got into the property easily and checked in with a tablet My only gripe is the inability store luggage at the property. the lockers at the bus station is close enough at 700Yen for a large locker"

"Plenty of space. Relatively new. Local area Came by public transport, 3 adults two kids. Bus stop out the front (caught one bus from Odawara station). Left via bus one stop down. Near by (few minute walk) to sightseeing cruise and ropeway"

"Great breakfast buffet. The room was spacious and had a great Japanese traditional atmosphere! Nice Onsen, everything very clean. Also - it was very "centrally located' to get around in Hakone!"

"Such a pleasant hotel experience! The staff was beyond helpful and very friendly. There are both Japanese and western dining options at the hotel, as well as a delicious breakfast buffet. I would recommend at least booking breakfasts when you arrive as there are not many easily walkable restaurants, and the area is very hilly. The hotel does however offer free rides to multiple locations around Hakone. The hotel has a no clothes Onsen, and they provide free coverings for tattoos. This was by far my favorite room of the whole vacation. Our room (410) had an indoor terrace with a wall to wall massive window that can be opened to let in fresh air. We even had a view of Mt. Fuji and the sky rail that goes over Mt. Hakone. My only critiques of the hotel are that there is no gym, no coin laundry, and while the room was always nice and cool, the hallways and lobby aren’t air conditioned and can get pretty warm during the hot season. "

"Grand old place in need of a big clean, but absolutely phenomenal experience. The staff were fantastic; friendly and helpful. The dining room and food stations were unbelievable. A pianist was playing during dinner. It was amazing. Nice hot Onsen too. One was outside overlooking the ocean. Very special. I loved that I could have the window open. The room was so spacious and the view was incredible."
