The location itself was great if you wanted to be in the downtown area, but beware of all the drug use or active homelessness around. Staff were lovely and very helpful. The pool was clean and empty when we went. The game room was an awesome idea for children! Shame a few of the games were out of order but that's to be expected anywhere. Rooms were good. The room itself was nothing spectacular - more of a motel style in my opinion, but it was clean and had everything we needed. The hotel was worth it if you wanted to spend some $ on games for the kids or go explore the downtown nightlife (lots of bars and shops around)! Overall, best place I've been to in Kamloops for the price.

The location was ideal for the event we were attending, the room was small and the bed was horrible, worst mattress I have ever slept on, I was a little surprised that they didn't include breakfast and you needed to pay for it, the staff was extremely helpful and the lobby and common areas were clean.

The Thompson is fine for a short stay, whilst the rooms have been updated the building is quite a bit older. The staff were welcoming and friendly however I had a few issues with the room: The bed was a bit too hard for my preference and there was no fan in the bathroom, which made getting ready quite inconvenient after a hot shower. There was a large gap between the door frame which let in a lot of light and noise since I was directly across from the elevator. Also, make sure you get a city view room, a room facing the train tracks is extremely noisy as the windows aren't insulated properly.

The hotel was great- comfy beds, spacious rooms, enjoyed the pool and hot tub. What really stood out was the staff. So kind and incredible service. They made us feel so welcome. We will definitely stay again.

The staff were accommodating and kind. This made traveling with a dog much easier. Having a room next to elevator and stairs was quite loud with very little sound proofing for other guests in hallways, pipes and showers and the ice machine, ear plugs recommended. The Downtown location had a few street people but overall great stay. Would recommend and I will be back.
