The Stanley

"I have stayed at the Stanley through the years since 1969 and this is the best it has been. The front desk, valet parking and bell service is excellent. The rates are reasonable. The rooms are modern and clean. I usually stay in Athens only the night before heading to the airport but this time I stayed a couple of days and found the Stanley to be clean and quiet even though they are a large hotel. I look forward to staying there again."

"This is a beautiful property. I was graciously upgraded to a suite when I arrived which was a nice surprise. However, I was sharing the room with my sister and I had asked for 2 beds and only got a double. I had them make up the sofa in the living room which was comfortable. However, I was unable to sleep due to an A/C noise that awoke me. I reported it to the desk the next morning and they were very proactive about getting it fixed. After showing them the video I took and they heard how loud it was I thought they would have compensated me somehow but they did not. They actually expected me to call the desk in the middle of the night???? Also, it was also very nice of them to leave a bottle of wine in the room but why not have it there when you check in instead of in the evening while you were away knowing you were leaving early the next morning. Nonetheless, it was a beautiful property. I didn’t have the breakfast as I had to leave very early but did eat in the all day restaurant and I would not recommend eating there. There are better places downtown a bit."

"So convenient to have the hotel within walking distance of the airport. We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel both were good although the breakfast buffet seemed a little expensive. The room was great, would highly recommend."

"Great location, large room and nice bathroom. My only negative was the linens (bedding and towels) were, to me, strongly scented and there was a scent also in the hall way. It was not a bad smell, but I had a bit of a sore throat and the perfume irritated it."
