"This is the second time I've stayed at this property and I've had the same experience both times. For my needs, the location was great. It's quiet and the amenities are great. The problem is the rooms smell weird. My guess is that some people smoke in the rooms and then they do some type of fumigation that ends up smelling like a combination of cigarette smoke and the fumigation chemical. It just has the coverup smell. I could tolerate it, but I know that others wouldn't be happy with it at all. The unique aspect of this hotel is it's owned by TMC Transportation, which is a trucking company. You'll see their gear at the hotel. This probably is a way for them to provide housing for their own truck drivers as well as offering up open rooms to the general public. Well, not to lump all truckers into one category, but a lot of them smoke and probably do so in the rooms...since it's kind of their hotel (or they see it that way). As much as the staff is great and the amenities are nice, I think I'll avoid this location in the future due to this recurring issue."

"We stayed here twice for youth baseball tournaments and overall had a good experience, with a few frustrations worth noting. The location is great, with plenty to do nearby and several solid food options within a short walk. On the plus side, the food setup worked well for our team families. We were able to make nachos in the evenings with the provided fixings, and the food was generally decent. The free drinks were a nice perk after long days at the fields. The parking lot was usually full, but there was sufficient overflow parking in the back so we could always find a space. The rooms were quiet and clean, which is important when you have kids trying to sleep between games. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The pool was very popular and often crowded, but the kids enjoyed having it as an option. The biggest drawback was the elevator situation. On both of our stays, one of the two elevators was out of service. That meant a lot of waiting or climbing seven flights of stairs with baseball gear, which got old fast and would be a serious issue for anyone with mobility concerns. Fresh towels also tended to arrive late in the evening, which was a minor annoyance but worth mentioning. The surrounding area is a highlight: the donut shop, breakfast place, and Mexican restaurant nearby were all excellent, and having Crumbl Cookies close by was a fun bonus for the kids."

"The house was perfect for our group to spend time together reliving high school days. Being close to Valley Junction was great, and we appreciated how clean and comfortable the home was. Everything was exactly as advertised with easy communication with the host. Top notch stay! We would stay there again."

"Overall it was a great rental in a good location.Morning traffic is loud. Lighting is very bright in living room, with no accent lights for evening and no night light to see in bathroom. Bathroom shower curtain kept falling down. Host answered our questions quickly."

"We enjoyed our stay while attending a business conference at the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center: 833 5th Ave, Des Moines, IA 50309. Nice driveway parking, easy drive to convention center. Set up was nice for our team of 5 and could have easily accommodated 6 business guests with each person having their own queen sized bed. For families it could accommodate 12 comfortably. Home was very clean, kitchen had more than ample place settings and everything you would need to make a nice meal. We enjoyed breakfast in the kitchen each morning as a team. Set up was perfect for nice conversation around the island and/or table. We enjoyed a movie on the large TV in the living room and the couch was very comfortable, some guests used the reclining feature. Extra blankets in the living room were also a very nice touch. Restrooms were well stocked with plenty of towels, etc. Beds were comfortable. Excellent communication with host before, during and after. Very responsive to questions. There were no issues or concerns with our stay. Check in was convenient and seamless, and check out procedure was simple and well communicated. We felt safe in this neighborhood. We would definitely consider staying here again for a future trip."
